Quiet bnb on a quiet street in the middle of mariscal sucre (zona Rosa) and just a few blocks from plaza Foch.  Rooms are clean and safe, beds and pillows comfortable.  Breakfast is basic with eggs, coffee and 2 rolls.  Flexible and delightful management. Highly recommended if you are not looking for luxury.

Beatiful Hostel, located in la Mariscal and near Plaza Foch, you can rest placidly during the day and enjoy in the night the fun (Plaza Foch). If you need any help the staff can help you any moment.

The Hostal is close to the Metro and Trolebus stations.

Beatuful Hostal

Older building which can use some maintenance, however everything works. The smaller rooms are upstairs in the attic. Very low ceilings due to multiple dormers. Extremely nice owners, very helpful. The place is very clean. Eggs, fresh rolls and really good coffee for breakfast. Most of the clients were volunteer teachers, teaching English in schools. Location is very convenient only few blocks from Plaza Foch, but far enough to muffle sound from that loud and popular plaza. I was looking for driver for whole day to take us to Otavalo and Louis Gavilanes, person recommended by owners did wonderful job. Not only he drove us to Otavalo but also dropped us off in Sigchos and picked us up from Quilotoa five days later. Also we used his services in the city and for pick up and drop off at the airport. Great thanks to owners of Casa Kanela for this recommendation.

Wonderful and very helpful owners

I stay in the loft area (3 rooms) which has a good view of the surrounding mountains. This family-run hotel (more of a B&B) offers breakfast as part of the room price and the staff are always friendly - in fact I was told when I enquired about being able to stay next year "of course - just email us, you're part of the family!". It is in Mariscal, the tourist centre of Quito, with its many bars bookshops and restaurants and is also very close to at least 3 museums that are within walking distance. The red bus route stop (for colonial Quito) is only 150 yards away. The only drawback is lack of TV in most rooms--but the English Bookshop is only a couple of hundred yards away in Calle Calama, so stay in and read instead!. A very convenient place to stay.

I stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom.  The price was fine: $14.

The hostel is clean and the staff is very helpful.  The full breakfast was a good way to start the day.

Casa Kanela's location is perfect!  Very close to Plaza Foch (less than 5 minutes walking) but located on a quiet side street...ideal for resting after a day exploring Quito or a night out on the town.
