Hostal Princesa Maria

My friend and I stayed in several hostels in Baños during January 2021, the best of which was Hostal Princesa Maria. We felt extremely welcome by the staff. All COVID-19 protocols were followed, and the family-friendly atmosphere made us feel safe and comfortable throughout our stay. As two young females living alone in Ecuador, my friend and I had a bit of a rough experience, and the hostel staff was more than happy to help accommodate us. Even though the kitchen was closed for the pandemic, the staff allowed us to store all of our grocery items from another hostel. When my friend began to feel sick, the staff provided great advice and showed much concern for my friend (even giving us a huge discount on our stay!!! Thank you so much). More than anywhere else in Baños (and in Ecuador) did we feel supported at this hostel, not to mention the fact that our private rooms were IMMACULATE. Great wifi, hot showers, high standards of cleanliness... etc. The garden view was lovely, and the location was perfectly situated (close to the heart of town, but on a quieter street that allowed us a good night's rest). In non-pandemic times, I'm sure that this hostel would be full of kind, good-hearted travelers, as it seems that this is the atmosphere that Princesa Maria attracts. Even during the pandemic, it was a perfect, quiet, and clean place to stay. I HIGHLY recommend!
