Kiwi Hostel & Suites Baños

This is the first hostel I've stayed in that felt familial. Kiwi is lucky to have Ana, the dueña at this hostel, as it is very clear she's poured her heart & soul into it. She was always around to help con cualquier cosa o pregunta tuvimos. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean, the beds were the nicest I've stayed in at any hostel (outlets and lights next to each bed, curtains around the bunk beds) and the free breakfast was tasty (eggs are included). If you want advice on activities in Baños, there are chalk signs on the walls of the common areas, and a book with a list of local excursions along with travel times and suggested prices. Helpful to glance at before you go into town and are repeatedly propositioned by tour operators. It's easy to get to the plaza central from the hostel, if you get lost, ask for directions to the brand new hospital. The hostel is right across the street. The rooms there always felt cool and comfortable, the dining room table and chair set were honestly the nicest I've seen in Ecuador, and the fact that the big screen TV in the social area has Netflix? Just a cherry on top of an already exceptional place.
