Wakeup Copenhagen Borgergade

Great smaller room hotel. (Very similar to Citizen M or Yotels if you've stayed in one of those). Pros: Clean, efficient rooms (small), great for a solo traveler. Great location (just a few blocks from many of the sights). Great employees. The luggage storage lockers in the basement that you pay for by the time are unique, but quite efficient/easy/safe. I actually stayed in both this one and Bernstorffgade, so I'll comment on both. Both are great locations, but Bernstoffgade might be closer to the central station, but this one is closer to the scenic canal and the city center I'd say. Both were very quiet/clean. Breakfast was the same at both. Only egg options were hard boiled or soft boiled (not my favorite, but I tried them). Fairly good selection otherwise. Great employees keeping it stocked and the tables serviced at both. Breakfast in the lobby, but nice set up. A/C worked much better at this one and the windows opened a little more. You have to put your key in the wall to get things to work (and need to use it to unlock the door when you leave to properly close/lock it) but once you figure that out, it's fine/good. Cons: Know that the bathrooms are basically IN the room with frosted glass and sliding doors (basically no privacy if you are not a very close couple or are modest). The showers are quite small (maybe 34" in diameter) which might be tight for some, but it was fine for me (I'm 6' 190). Hardly any place to put toiletries in the shower and too small to comfortably bend over and put them on the floor. Toilet paper holders in both places were way too close to the toilet. I basically had to remove the roll or raise it up and put it on my thigh when I sat down! Almost no place to put luggage (small pull out luggage rack that only worked if luggage was closed), but fine for one person. Water pressure at this one could be a bit better and it took a while for the hot water to get up to the 6th floor, but it was ok. The lights by the bed were very dim (if you like to read in bed, it wouldn't work) This one had more light switches (some closer to the bed)
