I have spent one night in the pension and enjoyed the stay there. I liked the fact it was used to be a part of the monastery, so the architecture is old with thick walls and vaulted ceilings. The interior of rooms is simple however clean and cozy. The design is probably from the 80's and the bathroom reminded me my childhood :-) I slept really well and even though I didn't have high expectations about the breakfast it was nice and served with a smile. The best thing about this pension is it's location totally hidden away from crowds of people and the buzz of the city. And yes, it is hard to find it. If you are on the Mendel's square and see a church, drive through a little parking space directly to the church and around it until you reach the pension. Parking is free-of-charge. It took me about 15 min walk to get to the city center of Brno - the City Town Hall and the Zelny market.

Away from the buzz of the city, simple and clean

This pension is part of the monastery where Gregor Mendel lived and worked which is the main reason we wanted to stay here. Don't expect anything fancy - the pension is small and the furnishings quite outdated but the price fits this standard. We had two single beds on opposite sides of the room, which was weird but OK since we were only staying one night. The bathroom was cramped and the showerhead wasn't attached to the wall which made hair washing a challenge! It's a fairly long walk from the bus and train stations and the Old Town but is conveniently close to a large tram/streetcar exchange. Big pluses for this place were the quiet room and great breakfast. I'd give it 2 1/2 stars - fine for a single night stay, particularly if you dig the Mendel connection. Other reviewers have mentioned that it is tricky to find so do print out the directions on the pension's website before you go.

Gregor Mendel connection

I stayed here for a few nights while I was working in Brno and I found it clean and comfortable although not luxurious. I liked that there was a little kitchen where I could make tea or soup whenever I wanted it, and the friendly staff brought my (very tasty and substantial) breakfast to my room at a time decided the day before. There were several bars and restaurants in the area, and good transport from the nearby Mendel square.

Cosy, quiet, simple accommodation

Quality pension ,good located almost in the heart of Brno.Always nice ,helpfull owner at the desk, rich breakfest.The rooms are clean and stylish. Quiet place,good for rest after busy Day of the trip. Our family visited Pension few Times, always good choince. 

Good place 

Small pension located in the old augustinian monastery. It´s cloce to the city centre (15 min walking) and to the exhibition area (10 min of walking). There is a parking plece in front of the pension (great advantage in the centre of the town). Also the price is very friendy, on the room served breakfast incl.
Furniture is realy old, some pieces need to be replaced. 
Window of my room faced a garden, but unlikely theer was no anti-mosquito net in the window :-(
Internet connection is fast, but not protected (anyone else can read data you transmit)
