V-Lodge

V-Lodge are very comfortable apartments in the heart of Otrabanda, the charming and authentic "other side" of town from the more touristic Punda area. V-Lodge apartments are inside a beautiful 19th century monument that was restored and is well maintained. It is located in a small street just off a busier main street with clothing shops, hair salons, a supermarket and some local bars and restaurants. Take the alley towards V-Lodge and all is quiet. The building has many windows which makes for a nice breeze inside, and also on the balcony - where you will hear cosy neighborhood sounds of people greeting each other (and you) happily, mixed with the chirping of beautiful yellow bellied birds. There is an attendant, always there to provide you with fresh towels, bed linen, a bowl of sugar or anything you may need - or if you forgot your key. The apartement is basic and practical, the monumental charm, the urban surroundings and the breeze make it perfect. The bathroom is spacious and clean, the bed is comfortable, the air conditioning and fans in the apartment work well. The kitchen is equipped with basic necessities. Outside (within sight), there is enough space to park your car safely, from here it's easy to go visit the many bays and beaches and other sights on the island. Punda is just a stroll from here, across the famous Queen Emma pontoon bridge built in 1888 and also known as the "swinging old lady". Don't forget to stroll around Otrabanda too, it's the original working-class neighborhood and the oldest part of Willemstad, and it is being developed to blossom in just a few years time. It's hopi great to walk through the labyrinth of alleys and streets with restored buildings in all sizes and colors. Your host Victor is quite engaged with the area, he is dedicated to putting his time and energy into the development of Otrabanda and he knows a lot about it.
