Absolutely loved our stay here in La Suerte! Very warm family owned business with all the staff being super helpful booking tours and giving us information, honestly they were all so understanding - letting us pay late for a delicious breakfast and to do laundry there too. Great relaxing atmosphere with beautiful views, I would so recommend!

The best customer service!

Enjoyed my quick stay here, easy to get to the town center by foot and really enjoyed the hospitality of the staff. The area is very windy so keep in mind but otherwise it was a comfortable stay with all the basic amenities for a good deal. I would recommend staying here!

Great affordable place to stay in Monteverde

Stayed in a private double room which was ridiculously loud from 6am all the way through to 11am. Absolutely cannot sleep through shouting guests and screaming children. 

Room also leaked when rained and there was 0 hot water. 

Communal areas were nice and free breakfast was a nice touch but definitely not worth it for the noise!

Very Noisy

David and Elvia were amazing hosts, always happy to help with information on local tours and arrange transportation when needed. Elvia's traditional breakfast was really tasty and the hostel was clean and tidy. Definitely would stay again!

Beautiful family run hostel

I stayed in the triple en suite room, which was very quite.  This hostel was very clean, room was spacious, had hot water, good wifi, excellent breakfast included.  For the price, you really can't beat this place.  In addition, everyone that worked there was exceptionally nice and accommodating.    FYSA, It is about a 12 minute walk to downtown.

Great Value for Price

I really loved this hostel ... David at the front desk was really helpful!! Spoke really good English ! The breakfast was perfect in the morning and the view of the sunset on the balcony was amazing :) Monteverde is colder then other part of Costa Rica so bring warm clothes

We loved the ambiance of this family hostel. There wasn't extra comfort or anything better but we just enjoyed staying around with the owners. However, you have to bear in mind that it's 10 minutes away from downtown.

Family hostel

A nice hostel, clean and with a good breakfast. However, we were ROBBED here in the night. Someone snuck into our room at night whilst we slept and stole about $120. We were the only people in the room and left the door unlocked between 12midnight and 5 am. Thankfully they left cards and passports. We don’t usually use lockers, but there were none at this hostel. Hence it turned into a very expensive stay.

Robbed

Great location a few minutes walk from town but also feels very quiet and peaceful. A short drive to all major local attractions ie. National park and ziplining. Basic rooms but ensuite and spotless. The family treat you as one of their own and were very helpful throughout our stay arranging activities and  transport. The meal are filling and delicious. Highly recommend. 

World Challenge 

This hostel is situated a 10 minute walk from the town of Santa Elena. For us that was perfect because the hostel is surrounded by green nature in a more quiet area with a really nice view through a glass front. In the morning while having a typical (free) breakfast including gallo pinto, egg and some fruit, we enjoyed watching the grazing horses outside. The kitchen is okay (though one really weird thing is that all the knives smell like grilled sausage... maybe buy some new ones?) and we always cooked our meals there. Restaurants are in walking distance. Our 4-bed dorm was clean and the WiFi really good. The light could be a little bit brighter. They organize all kinds of tours for you and the staff is really nice and helpful. If you want to feel closer to nature and not stay in town with all the tourists then this is your spot.
