I had great luck finding accommodation at Amanda's Guest House. Beyond Amanda's friendly hospitality and honest attention to our wishes, her guesthouse was just perfect for us and for enjoying the pura vida lifestyle. It was very clean, surrounded by trees and green foliage, and furthermore had a cozy feeling that you don't get from a hotel. The Bambu plant in front of the house was a plus in our experience. It was perfect for relaxing on the balcony and enjoying Costa Rica's warm, perfect weather to the sound of the Bambu chimes. Even though it could get quite warm on the second floor, Amanda hat the room equipped with a big fan that kept us fresh and at ease, making us very happy. The room details also enchanted us, like the colors, the decoration stile, the simplicity of it all which combined with the colors, sunsets, sounds, and Amanda's breakfast allowed us to get a very particular taste of Costa Rica. Will definitely come back!

Wonderful Place!

The guesthouse is clean, comfortable and convenient and it was great to have a really hot shower after a long trip! I needed a base in San Jose to explore other areas of interest and Amanda was really great in making recommendations and helping me plan my trip. I was really grateful that she checked up with me around the times of my tours and provided useful planning information for every trip.  I had a wonderful visit to Costa Rica and was able to see the places I really wanted to see during my short trip because Amanda assisted with advice and guidance. 

Convenient and affordable

Its ok but not worth the cost in my opinion Amanda was helpful on many things but the place needs a bit of care infested with ants and mosquitoes she told me
Its because its raining well ok but fix the holes of the sceens and definitely change the pillow cases ok they were bleach she said so don’t worry very noisy as it is in the middle of santa ana not a quiet neighborhood but if tou are ok with that and feel that you want them to do you a favor by staying there go right ahead il find a better place and cheaper next time keep in mind for two its 75 u.s. not worth it in my humble opinion....

Been 2 nights upon arrival and before leaving 

I loved staying here. I stayed one night on my way to the Caribe and one night on my way home. Truthfully I wish I had stayed a few more days there. It is so peaceful and beautiful. The room I stayed in was spacious and so comfortable. Amanda is extremely welcoming and helpful. She made all my transfer arrangements, which I really appreciated. As a solo woman, I felt very safe there. The price is very reasonable. I highly recommend this place and look forward to returning!

A gem in the city

Amanda is a terrific host and cares a lot about her clients. She works hard to make sure you’re happy. The rooms are clean and comfortable. My only challenge was getting sleep. The street traffic was quite loud and I have trouble sleeping when there is a lot of noise. 

Amanda makes a nice breakfast and is super helpful with everything. We loved her spirit and attention to detail. 

Amanda cares about her clients 

Amanda is amazing! She helped me to plan and to book 3 weeks im Costa Rica and evetything she had recommended was perfect! I had booked a few places by myself but they were not good, thankfully Amanda was helping us out with a few issues in Costa Rica as we both dont speak spanish. She was always available and helped us in every way possible. The last 2 days of our trip we stayed at this Guesthouse which is very lovely and makes you feel home. Very clean and very nice decorated with a lovely breakfast and a lovely host.
Definately recommend this place and also Amanda, for booking Hotels and Tours and Transfers around the country.

Very lovely place with a even more lovely Host!

Our family stayed at Amanda’s upon arrival in San Jose. Her home is very clean and comfortable. Amanda is very attentive; she helped us set up our phones for use in Costa Rica, and with reservations for tours in Montevedre. We got off to a great start with her help and expertise. Definitely recommend De la Tierra for your San Jose visit!

Spotlessly clean, comfortable home

I always have enjoyed my overnight stays with Amanda and her wonderful Family. If your flight is a late arrival at the San Jose Airport SJO, she will gladly ensure a pick up, a good night's sleep, and easy connection to an interbus shuttle.

A taste of old Valle Centrale

Amanda provided so much for us! Anything we needed help with was done happily and quickly. She is there to serve her visitors and is like having a local friend who made us so comfortable.

Simply amazing service

Clean and spacious rooms, about a 20 minutes drive from San José airport. Ideal for the night before taking your plane or when just arriving (that was our case). Amanda is very welcoming and extremely helpful. She gave us a lot of practical advise. Secure car parking. Good breakfast!
