Easy walking distance from the heart of Santa Teresa with its shops and restaurants, and a 5-minute stroll from the beach, this was an excellent location for our home base.
It got so much better when we realized that the outdoor kitchen on our balcony was super functional for morning coffee, and even had a blender for smoothies!

Cecilio was helpful at the front desk, and the recently upgraded Wi-Fi worked well.

The freshwater pool was absolutely lovely for a getaway from the hot afternoon heat. 

We would definitely go back again!

Truly our Oasis in Santa Teresa.

Great place to stay in Mal Pais. The bungalows are very spacious and clean and the staff was very helpful. The area is quite and not far from the beach at the same time. We loved every minute of our stay at the Hotel Oasis! 

Amazing stay in Mal Pais

We were there for the third time and always it's a pleasure to spend some days in their nice villas. Nice atmosphere and good service; silence (apart from the early morning monkey's hawls...) and natural life are predominant

Always a great sensation

We stayed here for 5 nights for our honeymoon as part of a Costa Rica tour. When we arrived, we were met with a beautiful modern room, bathroom, and kitchenette outside. There was a bottle of wine in the fridge for us, and coffee and water for the duration of our stay. 
The pool is small but cute, in beautiful tropical gardens. 
The Reception was so helpful!! They helped organise our excursions and transport, and we also rented their quad bike for the day ($60) to tour the peninsula ourselves.
The hotel is actually nearer Santa Teresa (5 mins walk) than Mal Pais, and this is a good thing: there are nice restaurants in the direction of Mal Pais but the majority of your time will probably be spent in the Santa Teresa which has a better beach and more choice of shops and restaurants. 

If I had to mention one thing, it would be that there is no bar or anything at the hotel so it’s just something to be aware of. Maybe that’s a good thing as it’s a lovely place to come back to after a day at the beach and a few cocktails! :-)


Perfect option in this area...

Cosy place, close to the beach, the rooms are clean and nice to spent time ans relax. It is a family and pet friendly hotel. Great costumer service, always available. Prices are good. Breakfast available if you want for an extra price. Small studio all equipped. 

Lovely place!

This hotel has lovely lush grounds, appears well tended and is quiet, away from the hustle/bustle, filth, noise and inattentive drivers which makes up Santa Theresa.  Pool area is lovely though small.  Also room (#5) is small but adequate, my issue is room dark and lush vegetation made me feel hemmed in.  This is a personal feeling but if you suffer similarly keep this in mind. Note also there is no restaurant on site but there are within walking distance.
