The very worst experience I've ever had!!!! 
Everything seems to be in order on Instagram. I reserved a lovely "aire" cabaña with a balcony and an ocean view... Isn’t it great?
But in reality…. A dirty place: a stiky floor, hairs in the shower, a broken shower, and dirty clothing cupboards. Cockroach-infested (I've had this experience in similar hotels in the Ecuadorian and Brazilian Amazon, rural Costa Rica, my husband in Africa, and so on.) I never see that thing!!!; They go into the mousticaire and are all over the room at night. Morover.... The gorgeous caban with a view on the internet was actually face-to-face with two camping tents, all of the garbach that people put in the location, and the clothes that people put all over the beautiful plants in front of the caban. Isn't it great?   Other important considerations: there is almost no space on the beach; for me, it is not a problem that you cannot swim in the sea, but there is almost no place to sit or enjoy the sun, and if you arrive to do so, several stray dogs will immediately arrive and jump into you in an implesant manner. 
The frosting on the cake is that the hotel's employees are very unpleasant; at the very least, they must learn to be courteous. They don't care about the property either; everything is neglected, the beautiful outdoor seats and tables are filthy, and so on.
Result: We fled the next day after our check-in, despite having already paid for four nights through an agency—all on February 14!!!

Stayed with a friend for two nights in an A-frame cabana on the beach. The accomodation was a cabana with double bed down and a sleeping loft with a single bed. The loft was reached by climbing a very steep stairs ( not for old farts) 
The cabana itself is comfortable and very clean with a spacious shower in bath but without hot water. We had an air conditioned unit but units with only fans are available for a lower price. We did not use the aircon as there was a good breeze off the beach the whole time. The cabana is situated just 30  meters from the high tide in the coconut palms. The crashing surf makes for great sleeping but prohibits safe swimming-this is not a beach for swimmimg and signs are along the beach prohibiting swimmimg. 
The bar and restaurant are a short walk from cabanas and the food is good but a bit pricey for Colombia.
Prices for lodging in the cabanas run around $65-$75 per night but tent "glamping" is available for around $35 usd. Glamping have shared bathrooms and showers a short distance. Credit and debit cards are accepted both to pay for rooms and restaurant.
This eco-hotel is situated in beautiful natural surroundings with focus on nature. The beach is beautiful but extremely dangerous due to large waves and undertows. Perhaps ok for surfing altho it is pretty much a shore break.
All in all a great place, well run, clean and a nature lovers paradise. The down side is there is no night life and prices are a bit elevated.

Playa los Angeles-get away from it all

I stayed here in a private cabana (CABAÑA LUCERO) which was wonderfull!!
Views of the sea, hammock, your own bathroom and a good bed also, also enough electric points in the room for charging stuff.

The grounds are also nice as was the beach (but no swimming).
The restaurants/bar area is nice, food was good but maybe a bit expensive...bar closes also early so bring your own stuff also with you  if you wanna make the evening longer with friends and so..

breakfast was also good.

Rustic and quiet location with nice beach near Tayrona NP

This hotel is located by one of the best beaches in the way to the The Tairona Natilnal Park. We sleeped in one of the small houses, al you can rent a space for camping. The restaurant offers quite good food, I love their brekfast.

Camino hacia Ciudad Perdida

We stayed here 2 nights in the cabinita Casa Amor, an open tree house bungalow with a thatched roof. It was truly lovely to sleep up above the tree line with a view of the ocean and forest canopy. There were lots of colourful butterflies and birds and few insects to bother us. Sleeping in the ocean breeze with the ocean sound was very relaxing. The beach is quite rough and many people dont swim at all. They tell you at reception that swimming is banned, though many people play in the waves regardless. It seems that the Colombian authorities are exagerating the swim danger due to fears of Colombians (who mostly cannot swim well or not at all) drown a lot. My wife did not go in.
I deduct a point from my score due to the horrendous food available.
The food is not only a bland, boring rip-off, it can be outright disgusting. Drinks are overpriced.
I recommend taking a bottle of wine with you and asking them to keep it in the (somewhat cool) fridge. Service is also very poor.
Nice for 2 nights but any longer wold have been too much. The day trip into Tayrona was nice, albeit a long journey and hike to get to a swimmable beach.

Rustic and Rough but Beautiful beach.

We slept 4 nights in a big tent (habitation "Coco") and enjoyed the relaxing area. The beach is endless and surrounded by palms and only few people and surfers are there. Swimming might be difficult due to high waves but laying at the beach is really what you come here for. They also have a restaurant that offers delicious juices, sandwiches and local food with vegetarian options and fair prices.

Relaxing stay at a wonderful beach

We stayed in casa amor which was a lovely tree house. We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of our stay. It is very much a back to basics, rustic experience, but that suited us.

You can hear and see the sea from your room. Sadly the current is such that you cannot swim there.

The fresh juices are delicious and if you ask the ladies they will also freeze bottles of water for you to keep them cool over night for you.

There was virtually no vegetarian options on the menu (which would be very easy to add with the produce they use). The staff were accommodating when I explained what I could and could not eat though. Given that it is really the only place you can eat they could do with adding a few more dishes to the menu for variety. You can ask for avocados and they are fresh and extremely delicious.

A few things to note - you have to ask on check in if you want your room cleaned every day. Their ability to take card can vary (depending on who you ask!) so have some cash handy. There is no wifi or TV here - perfect if you want a complete getaway, but could be an issue if you like to be connected. We used this as a base to explore Parque Tayrona which was a short bus ride away.

There isn't much in the way within walking distance, we think there may have been a bar at a nearby hotel you can walk to for a sunset drink, so worth investgating on line before you get there.

This place won't be for everyone, but if you want a unique experience away from it all - then this for you.

Lovely escape from reality

Playa Los Angeles has very charming accomodation with different options for different budgets (tent, glamping and little wooden cabins ....) It is in a very beautiful location and the nice staff makes it a plus. It is possible to have meals on site so if you want to have a quiet holiday this is a place for you ! It is situated 2 km. from the Tayrona National Park and right on the beach

Very beautiful location and nice staff

The beach was beautiful and we felt safe, but the little restaurant beachside was just okay.  The cuban sandwiches were pretty good but the burger was not. I guess I’m just used to American burgers and this did not even come anywhere near what I was expecting. I don’t think the patty was beef, it had a weird texture and flavor, the amount of mustard they put on was gross, and everything kept sliding apart and made it very hard to eat. I would definitely pack my own lunch next time!  On the flip side, their fresh juices were amazing!

This review is for the little restaurant on the beach... not the hotel

After our trip to the tayrona national park we wanted to spend two days on the beach and choose playa los angeles. Compared to other options it was quite affordable but in advance we were not 100 percent convinced by the recommendations and even thought of changing to another hostel. We‘re soo glad we didn‘t! First the location is spectacular!! I highly recommend getting up early and enjoy the sunrise on the beach! You can’t swimm in the sea but you can still get in there! The place is very quit and there are literally no other tourists than the aproximatly 10 other guests. Our bungalow was amazing! Very clean and just so nice! We had a hammock with a view to the ocean! They have wifi in the reception and now it is possible to pay by card wich is also a big plus. The food was ok, but you have to wait quite long for it. The juices were soo delicious! And for breakfast i highly recommend the pancakes with banana, they were really good as well! Over all this is the perfekt place when you want to spend a quit and relaxing time at the beach!!
