My boyfriend and I went on the Javari River Amazon tour and it was the best experience ever. It was just us two, a very friendly volunteer translator (Fer) (as we spoke very little Spanish), the tour guide (Jumbo) and the captain of the boat (Roger). It was essentially a private tour for a great price especially compared to other tours. It was a 3 day tour, we spent one night camping in the Amazon which was incredible and  one night in a stilt house by the river. They provided all the food which was all delicious, and bought fresh fruit from the market in Peru. Jumbo is a fantastic tour guide and so kind hearted. His knowledge of the jungle and the animals is unbelievable and completely puts you at ease when you’re surrounded by the rainforest. He also has a remedy for anything! I was bitten by quite a few mosquitoes but he went the extra mile by giving me cream to help heal the bites. There’s so much I could write about this amazing tour, I loved every second of it. I highly, highly recommend Jaganda tours with Jumbo.

The best Amazon tour!

Martha took this place over and changed the view. Expect something completely different then the white wall pics you see here. You won't get any luxery but that's what you pay for :) Martha is really caring for her guests and dispite the lack of communication (she doesn't speak English) you'll get unexpected extras. Let's call it true love. :) 



Much better than you'd expect! 

I had one of the best trips of my life! I got amazing service by eco hostel la jangada, everyone working there was incredibly friendly and they were attentive to my every need. They made me feel like a praised customer not just another booking number. Since the moment I arrived my personal plan was explained in detail and they helped me get prepared to go into the jungle. 

The tour they organized for me was very complete and well organized. I stayed in Casa la Hormiga and I do not have words for how nice the family was with me. The food was AMAZING AND THE FAMILY AS WELL! There was not a dull moment, I got to live the amazon forest experience to the fullest. There were so many activities and they asked me and personalised my trip so I could focus on the ones that interested me the most. 

I fully recommend eco hostel la jangada and their tour in Casa la Hormiga !!!

INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE

If you are looking for an amazing, unique experience in the Amazonas region book a tour at Jangada.
For the tour I was accompanied by Janine, who translated the Spanish for me. She was great company and the 3 nights at Lomo Linda were really fun and interesting. Besides sleeping in the jungle, where we walked for 2 hours in the night through the jungle to experience this unique atmosphere and also to see loads of different animals. Furthermore, we were dolphin watching, fishing, did some arts, swam in the Amazonas, explored a beach at the Amazonas, which is only visible during the summer period, and went to the monkey island. Our guide, Robert did an amazing job, he grew up in lumo linda and really knows the jungle and his surroundings. He also taught us a lot about the indigenous people, their living and beliefs. During our visit we could stay in the house of his brother and ate at his parents house and were the only tourists in the village. We felt like we belong to the family from the first day on.
It was one of the best experiences I ever had and I would love to go back one time.

Wonderful time in Lomo Linda with indigenous people

We had a fabulous time in the amazon jungle with the guide juan. We went for 2 days into the floating forest at javari river and 2 days to loma linda in the highlands of amazon river. 

We slept at the beach and in the jungle. Everything was perfectly prepaired and also in the hostel la jangada they were really friendly and helpfull.

Juan knows a lot about the history and people in this region and it was just perfect! Thank you for making this trip more than perfect for us! 

Amazing tours in the amazon

I can highly recommend you to go there, especially if you want to see the jungle! The nice staff can organize you a tour if you want. I spent one week only in the hostel because I felt really comfortable there and the family welcomed me very well!

Cozy hostel

We turned up here with no booking. They fitted us in, made us a coffee and looked after us. Great staff and atmosphere, clean ,friendly place.  Fruit, coffee etc for breakfast and free WiFi. Would stay again.

Thanks for your help

Room was not clean. Marks on sheets, hair in bathrooms, no towels provided (we had to specifically ask and they smelt of cigarette smoke), no toilet paper in room. The photos on the website are not at all representative of the hostel. It is tired, dated and probably looked good 5 years ago but needs major work (every water faucet leaked all over the floor, most power points didn't work, light in bathroom didn't work, kitchen was grubby, fridge was dirty). Essentially there are better options in town. Don't be fooled because this was in lonely planet. Needs work! We stayed in private room. Can't speak about tours as we booked elsewhere.

Run down hostel.

The hostel is fine, nothing special but stay away from their tours! We organized a tour in the Amazon with Jangada. We paid for a 5 day jungle tour (costing 100€ per day---more than initially expected and more than other companies) but they only gave us a 4 day tour!! (Less than what we paid for). The guide/translator was always late (every morning we were waiting for her for at least 45min!!) This meant that we missed several activities that were suppose to be included. The local guide (works independently) was great, but the guide/translator from Jangada had zero knowledge of the jungle and acted more as a city girl tourist than us. Lastly, they completely ignored dietary allergies even though they asked and were told multiple times about the allergies. I had nothing to eat for dinner because of it. Very disappointed!! Go with another company that don't lie or rip you off. You will have a better experience!
