Hostal Modelia

My son and I only stayed one night while traveling to Bogota to visit Jaime Duque Park. We arrived very late and left very early. Starting with the initial email contact and then arrival at the hostal late at night the service was excellent. They were very quick to reply to emails and very helpful offering airport pickup,if needed. The hostal seemed to be a family business and the owner Eduardo was very knowledgeable of the area and very helpful with questions, The daughter spoke English which was very helpful since my Spanish is terrible. The hostal is in a nice quiet neighborhood but close to a main avenue and only a block or two from a grocery store. There is no sign on the hostal so you have to look for the address on the wall if you drive yourself. They offered us secure overnight parking in their garage for a very reasonable fee. The main area of the hostal was very clean. Our room was a good size with a private bathroom and hot water. It had 2 twin beds, a desk, a large mirror, a wardrobe, alarm clock and TV. The bathroom was stocked with towels and soap and the shower was nice and hot. Bogota weather is cold and the beds were made with plenty of warm blankets. The mattresses were extra firm. When we checked in we were offered breakfast but declined because of our schedule. Breakfast is included in the price. My son is under 10 so I was not charged for his stay, which is very nice and something you dont usually find elsewhere. Although our stay was very short everything was very positive. To me the most important aspects are a clean room and friendly service, both of which are available here. We selected this hostal based on other reviews on TA and agree with them all.
