New Century Resort Wenzhou Golden Coast

I spent one night at the Golden Coast New Century Resort and it was an excellent experience. The room was very large and very clean. It had all the amenities I would expect at an upscale hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was an excellent buffet breakfast. It was surprisingly kid friendly with many areas specifically designed for young children. There is a very nice pool overlooking a semi-private inlet (you need to wear a swim cap if you go into the pool) and a nice sandy beach at low tide. I recommend the ocean side rooms (a much better view) even though they may cost a bit more. However, one key point to keep in mind. This is a Chinese resort hotel that is designed for Chinese tourists. While foreigners are absolutely welcome, they do not cater to foreign tourists. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but few speak any English. Do not expect special treatment just because you are a foreigner. If you want that, you will be disappointed. But if you want a very nice, upscale Chinese hotel on an island filled with historic and beautiful areas sites, I recommend the Golden Coast New Century Resort.
