Super 8 Hotel Fen Ye - Shanghai

I totally concur with the other reviewer - I had exactly the same experience at this hotel and I would stay again anytime I;m back in Shanghai. I actually PREFER hotels that aren't in the "tourist zone", especially if they're close to a metro stop, which this hotel is. Why? Because you get a better "feel" for the city, how the residents live, where they shop, what they eat etc, and you experience it all at local prices, not overinflated tourist prices. There are no scammers or hustlers in these areas either. We ate in the restaurant at this hotel and it was great, no english spoken but that's par tof the fun, besides, we had a phrase book so you can always get your message across! The local eateries and facilities in the area are great, and the metro station is a mere 2 blocks away and then you're minutes away from anywhere you want to be in Shanghai, all the while staying in a clean, comfortable, affordable and safe hotel.
