Was exhausted after a long drive with my girlfriend. Decided to book with the shady in. We arrived late and just wanted to rest. Walked in the front office as it smelled very very bad. That should have been an indication right away, but was tired and was willing to give it a shot. Payed 115 dollars for the room. Went to the room and was shocked!!! Smelt like mildew and old cigarettes . The bathroom was disgusting and rusty. There was a couch that should have been brought to the dump in there sitting in front of a nicotine stained microwave. The bed was beat up and was now just wanting my money back. Go back and ask for my money back and she said we don’t give refunds... I said the room is gross!!!!! She says.... we waited for you!! Blah blah !!! I said you never told my anything about refunds... and then she pulls out this sign.... well I want my money back!!!! She said up to you weather you want to stay!!! So I sent my girlfriend in there! And the woman of the motel was screaming at my girlfriend and my girlfriend told her the room is gross and your stealing from me!! She said then why did you stay here then??? Bottom line is this place needs to be shut down after reading all the other reviews!!! Shady people 100% And shame on you for putting other people through this poor excuse of a “motel”.

Popped in after not being able to find a camping spot and was getting late. I checked Trip Advisor after booking in. 
This is the last no tell motel on the way out of town; there are a few on the strip to choose from (all similar looking)
The room itself is dated and the motel could use some proper TLC. Looks like some updates have been done but are not done professionally. The room was clean. The air con worked. The bed was comfy. Linens were clean. No funky smells. Lots of pillows and seating. TV but I didn't watch. Microwave and coffee which I wouldn't use. It took a bit to get hot water to the shower. To the point I thought there wasn't any and started my shower cold. 
Room was $75/night but went up to $92 with taxes. Not worth $92 a night. Seems to be a mom and pop joint, and the owner was prompt to respond when I arrived.
It's ok for a one night stop over in a pinch. It is a tad rundown and dated but clean with responsive owners.

Good shady rest. Amazing location,great people there. Good price and all the rest. Problems taken care of right away. Quiet and very respectful, great caretaker. We are happy, shady rest is the best. Forget the rest.

My son and I stayed in unit 35 last night. All in all we found it generally acceptable. The unit was clean and appeared to have a new sink and toilet in the washroom.  Unlike many budget motels which advertise offering coffee makers and hairdryers and dont, Shady Rest does provide them. The linens and beds were clean, bug free and we each slept comfortably.The television is an older model and not a flat screen. The kitchenette works properly, and it was a bonus to refrigerate the perishables we had in our cooler without fear of them freezing which was the case elsewhere. However, the kitchennette lacks utensils other than plates and bowls. For $80. I wasnt disappointed with our stay in unit 35 at the Shady Rest and would stay again. This is an older motel and has alot of potential. This review is based on our experience in unit 35 at Shady Rest. Also the desk clerk was cordial and helpful.

Wasnt all that bad! 

I left a previous review about my husband's experience at this motel. He tried to go back again to get his deposit back and the woman said she would not give him his deposit back because I had shared my review of the motel already. There were even hairs in the towels and on the toilet and tub. There was a blood spot on one of the towels. She had inspected the room when he showed her and was picking the hairs off the bed. Then told him there were no hairs. Please don't stay there. They should not be in business especially after seeing other people's reviews. I hope they will get inspected without notice. They were also very rude and uncooperative. The woman did not care.

DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY...Unhealthy ... should not be in business!

My husband booked a room here tonight and it was absolutely disgusting. Long black hair all over the pillows. The floors were dirty. They locked the door on him after he asked for a refund. They did refund the room price but not the deposit of $50! Don’t waste your time or money! Very rude people!
