Unfortunately .... booked this guesthouse Dec 3rd for feb 12-19. I called the guesthouse directly to change from a full week to only the weekend of the 14th. No problem! I was advised to cancel online and they would block book me in those dates - perfect! 

Few days later I get a call.. they “double booked” for that weekend. Lol ok? 

I was offered to have the owner “Felix” call the adjacent hotel the MAQ - and they would set us up with a room OR they would give us an employees room. 

Received a VM today that the guesthouse was SOLD and the new owners are taking over immediately & all bookings are cancelled. 

LOL WHAT? This is a joke. The absolute fishiest thing I’ve ever heard - like that has to be a joke.  Okay my booking is cancelled because this guesthouse is POORLY run. But now it’s sold? Out of thin air? Wouldn’t the owner “Felix” have known that ? 

All I can say is we got lucky & found alternative accommodations with a super awesome place !!! 

The lady working there her name is Sam. She is very nice and I feel awful if this is true and they’re having her make all these awful calls - FELIX the OWNER should be taking responsibility!!

Even if they re open. ID AVOID! Who waits until the week before a long weekend to cancel everyone?

Wow!  Wow!  Wow! A friend and I have been visiting Tofino for 20 years now and this is by far the best place to stay in the area.  We stayed for 2 nights but it felt like home when we had to go.  Everything was exactly as stated on there website and the waffles in the morning were awesome!!  What a cool place...they had games (Jenga!!!), instruments, snuggly dogs to pet (Yes, even you Leah ;)) and all the rooms are hidden behind bookcases???  So cool!!! 

I consider myself well traveled and have stayed at least 100 different hostels and airbnbs in my lifetime and i legitimately was sad when i had to leave this place and I think it has alot to do with the host; Sam.  She is super friendly, professional, honest and works very, very hard to make sure everyone is happy at her guesthouse.  When we were experiencing insanely high winds and the power went out all over tofino, she made handwritten notes on everyones doors to make sure we all had her number and that if we needed anything to call her.  Her waffles skills are out of this world and her laugh brightens any room.  She is an amazing painter as well and gave my friend and I paintings when we left?!?!  Who does that??  Such a nice thing to do.  She also made sure that everyone was quiet at night and that we knew all the rules when we arrived.  She is one of a kind and I miss chatting with her :) . She's the boss!

No matter what type of traveler you are, come visit this guesthouse.  Give it a chance and you wont be disappointed.

Blew my mind!!!  Such a friendly and fun place to stay in Tofino!  Sam! Sam! Sam!

Nick and everyone at the Tofino Travellers Guesthouse made us feel right at home. The place is cozy and you can feel how much effort and love has been put into all the decoration and furniture. The atmosphere of this place is amazing! And of course the room was neat and clean :)
Nick was always there for a good laugh and went out of his way to make our stay perfect. We would definitely have stayed longer if we hadn't already booked our next plans... Sorry Nick, hopefuly next time ;)
And of course the waffles for breakfast were amazing! :) 
Would definitely come back any time!

Amazing from start to finish!

We are a couple who spent 3 nights staying in Tofino Travellers Guesthouse after a recommendation we got in Whistler. 

Where do I start on why we both loved it so much. When we parked up, we were greeted so warmly. I always believe this is a good start. 

This guesthouse is so cool, very clean and full of character. There are so many brilliant sayings around the place, our room was very private and quiet, the bed was large and very comfortable and it had a great powerful shower! I love the fact the room was in behind a book case. V inventive. Nick, the owner makes a mean breakfast every morning of waffles, v nice coffee and even Barry's (Irish tea) which pleased my tea obsessed husband very much :-) This kept us going until dinner. We both loved having a chat with Nick and other travellers every morning. His humour is on point 👌and had us in stitches laughing. He gave us some brilliant recommendations, and lent us 2 bikes to explore. He even did our dirty laundry for $10 a basket. This compares very favourably to $25 in Whistler. 😲

It is in walking distance to shops, restaurants and all the excursion providers, yet still being on a quiet end of the road. My husband loved hearing the sea planes take off in the morning, which very politely are not allowed take off before 8am. This isn't a sound we are used to in Dublin suburbia. :-) 

I've read other negative reviews which is disappointing and I believe unfounded. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion I know but I would consider myself very fussy and I simply disagree with them. Nick is doing a brilliant job at returning his guesthouse back to the way it used to be. I have heard it went a bit wayward in his absence. His personality is made for the service industry. Other places should take a leaf out of his book in fairness. In summary,  I couldn't recommend this guesthouse enough. 



Will always have happy memories of this gueshouse! 

We stayed at the Tofino Travellers Guesthouse for 5 nights and had an awesome time there. Claudio and Josh did their best to make our stay just perfect, taking us with them in the evening to a pub or to a bonfire at the beach. The grocery store is just around the corner, as well as many restaurants and shops. The guesthouse was really clean, we could use the kitchen and the grill on the patio is definitely a big plus. Our room was cozy and had a modern bathroom. Nick, the owner of the guesthouse, made excellent breakfast and gave us some really useful tips on what to do around Tofino. Also, we couldn’t have wished for better neighbours than Felix and Lea! ;) Thank you guys for everything, it was a blast!

Awesome stay in Tofino

First, the owner (Nick) has welcomed us very warmly and we felt immediatly like at home.
Then, we discovered the room: simple, comfortable and practical.
Waffles for the breakfast were very well cooked by Nick in person and he provided us with all the recommendations we needed (surfing, bear watching, etc).
All the recent past reviews were based on the previous manager of the guesthouse, it seems that it was a real disaster, but now Nick is back and everything is fine again! We really recommend this place!!

Do not be fooled by the past reviews from when it was run by someone else or by the promise of fresh coffee and waffles on the website. On arrival we were told we could help ourselves to breakfast and the tub of instant coffee - yet there was no milk, some of the bread was mouldy, the waffle maker looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years (see attached photo) and the washing up lay piled in the sink. The place seems to be used as a seasonaires hang out place, with many people (not guests or the guys that 'run' the place) coming and going throughout the night and taking over the kitchen in the evenings. To access Double Trouble you have to squeeze past a ladder (see photo) which is up 24/7 to allow the comings and goings throughout the night of who knows who. The room itself was as expected and clean but don't expect a good nights sleep due to the noise directly above from whoever happened to be up there each night. Not the atmosphere to meet other guests/travellers or to even want to spend any time there at all. You feel like you are in a student house share, not a paying guest. we've emailed to complain....no response.
