I had a beautiful stay at the Palm Beach Bungalow Resort. I stayed in a beach front bungalow which was very clean and had a beautiful view. The staff were lovely, and all the meals were delicious. I went on the boat trip which cost 20 USD and included fruit and drinks. We went snorkelling, fishing and swam with glowing plankton. I definitely recommend doing this if you have time. The location was very picturesque, and the resort didn’t get too loud which was nice. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and cannot thank the staff enough for making it so memorable.

Great atmosphere with this place. And a real mix of people, that works so well because of the relaxed atmosphere. Try lying in the hammocks that are in the sea. Lie in the sea as the sun sets over the forest behind the bungalows then grab a cocktail.

A little bit of heaven.

Peaceful, relaxing stay in a beachside bungalow. A slice of paradise. I arrived as part of a G Adventures group, but had a week extra at the end and stayed here for the whole week as it's so lovely. Ferry link provided, 2 hour trip,  and well away from the hustle and bustle of Koh Touch on the other side of the island. Restaurant on site with excellent food - prices about $8 for eve meal. Wifi only in the bar area, cold showers but it's so hot you need that to cool down, if you fancy a change then go to the local village 20 minutes away, Nature's Kitchen / Otter Bar  by the river (the French owner feeds the otter!) meals for $8 or the locally owned shack directly opposite the  new temple, just has a red sign with pictures of food no menu so just ask, the owner speaks English and lovely meals are $3, I hired a scooter from there for $10.  Marielle the owner sorted the booking of my bus back to Phnomn Pehn, very helpful - thank you.

Very nice place, far away from other resorts.
Only coexistence with some native fishermen and families.
Good food and bar. Very attentive and helpful crew!
A young crowd peacefully hangs out here.

Beautiful, quiet, peaceful!

Wow, what a highlight of disappointment.... but, wait.
Having been recommended a "beach luxury" of a getaway, I was confronted with little more than neglect from port to resort.
Upon arrival by overpriced tuc-tuc (US$15) for a slow 20 minute drop off, I was then led to the empty resturaunt to sit several hours before a bungalow was provided. Totally understaffed.
By mid afternoon there was some action; staff blowing up balloons and draping tinsel for, as I found out, the 50th Bday of the resort owners wife.
Yay, a staff member finally gave me a bungalow key and I managed to share a shower with mosquitos, no hot water, toweels, soap or genuine water pressure.
C'est la vie. 
Dressed and fresh, I tottered off to the bar for a cold beer. :-)
The staff provided a neck tag with bar code; henceforth, you scan with each drink and a bill is provided when checking out. Meals also apply.
Around 5pm the owners made an appearance and introduced themselves to new resort guests. The owner, Roy, or "Square head", he joked due to being Dutch, seemed very polite and somewhat appologetic for the lazy staff. Nice guy he is, giving me an open bar for "a few hours" until things settle for the party.
Suffice to say, I must have oredered a dozen vodka/soda or more, plus an equal amount of Beam & Coke for a blonde British lass who joined me the hours before when both waiting for our rooms. 
The sun was slightly gone before the first chance of food was availed, but I had to join the crew at the staff party. HMMMM... 
The night pittered out, plenty more drinks at the bar with no staff members scanning my card, so doubles and triple vodkas carried on. 
Square Head Roy took no interest in my asking if cash is better. He was already toasted. A great laugh of a night. 
After midnight, as the beach is right at our feet, my new British lass and I hit the water for a skinny dip. Warm tropical waist deep water, without a wave. Serene with a bright moon light. Perfect.
Just for a laugh, Square Head Roy comes splashing around and carried in some glasses of Vodka and Beam each for me and Blondie. Cold drinks in Paradise.
In closing, a big thank you for the albeit premature hospitality that proved so much more beneficial.
Not charged for room,meals, or literally US$200 in drinks.
I recommend Palm Beach Bungalows. 


Square Head, Perfect.

Not sure where to start with this review except literally 1hr ago we snorkled with a lion fish !!!! 
There are several great places to snorkel with parrot fish, banner fish, sergent major fish, puffer fish, butterfly fish etc... straight off the beach directly behind the resort. By Khmer standards it's incredible. The coral is still in it's infancy but the fish are abundant.

As for the resort, it's lovely down to every last detail with wooden bungalows with private balconies to suit all budgets all set within white sands and palm trees. 
Lots of free sun loungers and hammocks to chill out and relax on also.
The menu like most good eataries is small but every dish is absolutely delicious,generous in size and very cheap for the setting.
The owners are from the Netherlands and along with the super friendly local staff go above and beyond to ensure your stay is nothing less than perfect.
We also went on one of their organised trips which included, snorkeling. fishing, a bbq and an amazing swim in bioluminecent algae which was like something out of the movie Avatar......MINDBLOWN!!
We booked for 5 days initially and extended for a further 14 nights.
In a country which is changing for the worse  this resorts offers hope that the Cambodia we fell I love with 20 years ago will still be here in another 20 years!

An amazing stay on a beautiful Island. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the family bungalow that we stayed in was beautifully clean and had mosquito nets over the beds with fans to keep us cool. The menus for each meal had a variety to suit all. We were very well looked after and will miss it greatly. I recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, quiet, friendly place to stay for a break.

We stayed here for 5 nights as a break from city backpacking and it was absolute paradise. We arrived on the boat and were greeted with a welcome drink and sat with one of the owners who explained how things work. You are given a barcode with your roomkey which you use to run a tab for the duration of your stay. This works really well as it means you dont need cash on you and you just settle up at checkout. There are no safes in the bungalows but there are safes within the restaurant and you keep the key with you which we felt very safe doing.The bungalows themselves are basic but have everything you could possibly need for a beach stay like this. We absolutely loved the bungalows and they certainly exceeded our expectations.We chose to make the most of the opportunity to relax so didnt do much exploring of the island but there were options to rent motorbikes if you wanted to. We set ourselves up on the sunbeds and stayed until sunset! The property offer two trips, a morning hike and an afternoon boat trip. We did the boat trip and would definitely recommend as the plankton was something we will remember forever. The staff at this resort played a huge part on our experience and the service was so personal and spot on for the vibe. This isn’t a luxury resort, but that is reflected in the incredible value of this place.
