We stayed in a nearby villa and ate here 4 times, for lunch and dinner. All the food was fantastic, fresh and homemade. Lovely terrace to eat on listening to the birds and the crickets, surrounded by vines and trees. The landlord was friendly and helpful. Excellent value. Top choice for my kids was the chocolate pancakes! The only criticism would be the very small car park, very hard to get out of up a steep road.

We spent 3 nights at Plamena Family Hotel and I couldn't recommend it more! The location is beautiful and peaceful. Rooms are clean and cozy and with a nice balcony overlooking the forest. The owners are extremely nice and pleasant people who will happily give you recommendations on things to do in the surroundings. And the food in the restaurant -- well, it is just amazing!

we ate at this small restaurant attached to a hotel in baba stana on several evenings during our holiday in Bulgaria. The food was always delicious and plentiful and extremely good value. Delicious cabbage and carrot salad and tabouleh...accompanied by a rakia.. set us up for lovely grilled meats and particularly good chicken livers monastery style. Hosts speak English and gave us sound recommendations from the menu ... lovely freshly made  flat bread a must. It was such a bonus to find a delightful restaurant we could walk to in the evening ...we returned again and again. 

Just one click away from famous tourist sites, in a little bit lonely ex-village it is a very vharming family hotel. People are really hospitable and the kitchen is the best around, since it is all hand-made with nice wish and taste. All rooms look at an opposite tree-hill and the only thing you can hear at night are the natural nature`s sounds. The only disadvantage is the smell which comes from the drainers sometimes due to athmospheric pressure probably.

If you need a place to see and feel the nature of Bulgaria, this is it! Amazing place with grat staff, cozy rooms and very delicious food! They have parking avaliable. In the area there are very interesting destinations, which you can visit! ❤️

Fantastic!  Wonderful food. Very comfortable, clean and welcoming. Highly recommended. Nothing is too much trouble. Plamena Family Hotel is a gem.  We had the best time and I look forward to another visit one day soon. This is what a family hotel should be but usually is not.

Awesome little find in a beautiful village

A little paradise tucked in the Bulgarian mountains

Welcoming, hospitable and a real bonus to this unique place. 

We went there upone recommendation of some friends; the "hotel" is away from the main road and honestly - we should be paid to get there (there are many other locations in Oreshak that offer higher quality); the road is picturesque but for 1 car only (i.e. it's almost impossible for 2 cars to get alongside) and with extremely poor quality at the end - nearby the hotel; free parking?:) - available for max. of 4-5 cars only and is on a steep "road". The hotel is quite small, the kids playground is nothing special (as you can see it's not in the pictures as well); regarding the room pricing - you can hire a hotel room in the center of Troyan or the area of Oreshak for that price - with better service and travel options included + you'll be in the center of the city - where you can walk around and not only drive from one point to another; 
Regarding the restaurant: do not be surprised if you get offended by the "hospitable" owners - the woman is better than her husband but in any case the attitude is rude and offensive. When you ask a question about a particular meal or you want some "adjustments" - there is always a remark by the waitress. And last but not least - when it's time for the bill - do not expect to be asked how you'd like to pay (with card or in cash) - you must explicitly clarify that and it's your duty only- and if you don't do it - it's your fault !!! Our payment was by card .... the owner came in anger and "explained" in extremely rude manner how inadequate it was that we have decided to pay with card and have not informed them preliminary?!? Then he broght the POS terminal, took the slip receipt out of it and threw it super-annoyed on the table. This kind of service and attitude cannot be erased even with the best rooms or whatsoever. 
So as a recap - remote location, bad road, rude service - nothing special in general. My advice - don't waste your time and money...
