Praia do Forte

We stayed in one of the Chale's.  The top floor has a beautiful bed room and bath w a view of the ocean and a nice breeze.  The downstairs is also nice but not as pretty as upstairs.  There is a nice little porch with a hammock and chairs to lounge in. There is a yerd of green grass with nice chairs and lounges to lie on. The place has a nice sized pool for cooling off. There are lot's of birds to share your breakfast with and some little monkeys that come around after lunch or dinner but they are easily sent away.  The staff is very accommodating and kind, ready to make a cocktail or late lunch at any time....though, it might take a while do to "Bahia-time". There is a free coffee machine for early risers. Breakfast isn't until 8:30.   The food was good with the usual selections. You can order eggs in ay way oyu like.
We liked this place a lot. Felt very safe ( it's a gated area)  And the nearby "boardwalk-type town" of Praia do Forte has everything you could need.  The only complaint is that the yard lights stay on all night so that you really can't see the stars or the ocean in the distance. Also, there is a tiny beach there but the water is not for swimming in immediately off the hotel grounds. There are rugged reefs that reveal little pools that people come to snorkel in when the tide is out.  You need Teva's to really walk on them. A real swimming beach is quite a ways away unless you want to go to the town beach which is also the marina and might be a little...oily when the boats are coming and going. We same there with no real problem but it was still a little iffy.

It is located just beside projeto Tamar and less then 5 minutes walk from the main restaurants and stores. 

We stayed at Cabana do Anjo, which is Beach front. The caban is huge, with a big bed and a very spacious shower. They gently provided a cradle for our baby.

The service is Great, all the staff are very friendly.

The breakfast has all the basics and you can order tapioca, ommeletes and other regional food to the kitchen.

If you are wondering about the Beach in front of the hotel, it changed a lot during the day. At Low Tide, there are natural swimming pools, great for taking the children and do some snorkeling. At high tide, the sea gets big waves... Might be a little bit dangerous even for adults, so you should  take care.

If I could recommend any improvements they would be a better service from the bar at the Beach area. We stayed there for two whole days and only saw a waitress there once.

The grass at this area could also be better preserved, as they do at the neighbour hostel.

I would definitely Go back.

Great location and service

I went for a 4 day holiday with my family, I have two young kids. Our room was super nice and very spacious, the bed was really good and confortable, we all slept very well. The highlight for me was the shower, with abundance and easy to control the temperature, after a day at the beach all I want is a nice warm bath.
The breakfast was delicious, with many fruits, bread, cake, cereals, eggs, tapiocas, etc.
The staff was super nice with us, specially with my little ones, they had a lot of patience and were always sweet with them.
The location is another great point, it's in front of the beach, not many Pousasadas are, it's 2 blocks from Projeto Tamar and another block from the village, which makes easy to go out for dinner or lunch.
If I go back I will stay there for sure.

Great Location

This was the 5th time I've stayed here over the past 8 years and it is always a great experience! Highly recommend for the location, service, comfortable and clean rooms, and wonderful breakfast! They offer a friendly setting with great food and close to downtown... you can walk along the beach if the tide is low, or through the condo if the tide is high. Right in front of the pousada, sea turtles like to swim and eat every time the tide is high, and the reefs are great for snorkeling and beach combing. Not a super fancy place, but very clean, comfortable and with all the amenities you need to enjoy a stay at Praia do Forte!

Wonderful stay in comfortable, friendly ocean front pousada!

When we come to Praia do Forte we always try to stay here (and only stay elsewhere if there is no availability here). Even though there are nice places around here, Farol has the best view, the cleanest rooms, a delicious breakfast (homemade things and great variety) and great service. This is the place to be in PForte - relaxation and the best felling! Charming, elegant, personal... Always great!
