LOCATION & ATTRACTIONS NEARBY *** Hospedaria Pier 704 is located just outside Canela, on the way to Parque do Caracol, waterfalls (Cascata do Caracol) & the cable car. 
It is within walking distance (ok, longer walk) to the center of Canela and with an easy access to Gramado. 
You can park your car at closed gates, but also in front of the building. It is very safe around (at least that’s my impression) and area is really quiet. There’re some restaurants (pizzeria) around and few other hotels. 

HOTEL OVERVIEW ***It’s a family run business and definitely a lot of heart and feelings were put to create this place. It’s quirky and looks bit messy, really unusual boutique hotel, but that’s the intentional style of it. You will find a lot of colourful things everywhere, but that all this “chaos” (not in a negative way) make sense there. Owners and staff are fantastic and extremely helpful. 
The place is very safe, with a closed gate and there’s always somebody to let you in if needed.

RESERVATION *** I booked it directly on their website and were also able to pre-pay it in advance (as I preferred this way to avoid any surprises later on). 

LENGTH OF MY STAY *** 2 nights – Dec 2019

CHECK-IN *** I was delayed with my arrival, but I have notified them few hours ago and there absolutely no problem from their end to assist me with this. I arrived quite late (11 pm) and my room was ready immediately. I was dying for a coffee (yes, so late) and I got one. I love you, guys, haha. All paper work was done in the morning. Appreciate your help with this. 

LOBBY & RECEPTION *** It is full of things! Combined living roomEverywhere. But, as I said, normally this would bother me, but not there. It had it’s own charm and 

ROOM *** I have chosen Suíte Portenã, which is located on the 2nd floor. The room was very spacious, extremely comfortable and spotless clean. I had a TV, air-conditioning unit, mini-fridge with some drinks, coffee/tea making kit, plenty of electric sockets where you need them and also enough storage space. There was also a small safety deposit box, but I did not use it during my stay. 
A bit random was the bathroom sink located in the room, but that’s OK. This is the quirkiness of this place 😊. 
My bed was really comfortable, and I had a good night sleep. I loved that you can open the windows and hear thousands of birds waking up in the morning. This was totally awesome. 
Room however was a bit acoustic, you could almost hear what’s happening in the corridor or in other apartments (especially being in the bathroom). 

BATHROOM *** Spotless clean and functional. Walk-in shower and also you could open window there (always a plus). I loved their high quality toiletries, really good choice. 

BREAKFAST *** Normally served around 9 am (which is kind of late for me normally), but when I arrived much earlier, they’re very helpful and prepared quickly something for me. 
Breakfast was delicious, I have to admit. Selection of home-made cakes, breads, confitures, juices, fruits etc. It was lovely and very tasty. 

INTERNET ACCESS *** Complimentary and connection was stable. Wi-Fi logins given on a small coupon. 

CHECK-OUT EXPERIENCE *** Quick and professional. Hassle-free and I was ready to hit the road within minutes. 

STAFF *** Helpful, professional and natural. They make everything to make your stay comfortable.

OVERVIEW *** I enjoyed that ‘industrial plush’ boutique place and I was happy with my choice. However, the homely feeling isn’t always what I’m looking for. It’s not a problem to come back to your room/hotel at any time, I however feel guilty when I need to bother somebody to open the door for me (or stay awake to do it for me). There was absolutely no problem with it from the hotel part, it’s just my personal feeling. Also, if that was a romantic weekend away, I would be concerned with he room acoustics and what can you hear / not hear from outside 😊.
Anyway, this is a very solid, unusual, high-quality place and offers you comfortable stay when in the area. Safe, clean and pleasant. Fantastic value for money and convenient location.

Quirky, comfortable, unusual; safe location & great value for money

Everything was perfect: room, bed, shower, staff, location... and the breakfast was so delicious I still miss it...
Close to the National Parks of Caracol, Ferradura and Pinheiro Grosso. About 5 minutes to the city center. I totally recommend this hotel!

Perfect

We were two couples staying for only a night at this family hotel and we felt completely amazed by how great it is. Every single detail is a beautifully placed. 

The rooms are comfortable (bed, shower, facilities). The breakfast is a must: French breads and pastry, local products, fresh juice, fruits and coffee. The "staff" is a welcoming family that built this pearl into the mountains. 

We felt home. And we surely we will be back some day. 

Amazing in every single detail 

Everything in this place is perfekt! The staff, the rooms, the breakfast (!!!) exceed all expectations.
We will certainly stay there every time we travel to Canela or Gramado. Congrats to the hotel owners.

Amazing place!!

This Hotel is amazing. Good place, very comfortable, romantic and there are a lot of beer around the world in their pub on the 1st floor. I strong recommend the Mexican room. All rooms ate thematic and has a crazy architecture.
