Tambo Aymara Hotel

We stayed here before and after a trip to the salt flats.  The architecture is beautiful and we appreciated the comfy warm beds with flannel sheets, as well as the heater in every room.  Plenty of hot water for showers and we appreciated the bottles of water provided in the room.  The staff is very sweet and the breakfast was delicious.  It was close to everything, yet quiet and peaceful inside.  We slept well and enjoyed our stay here.

Warm reception, cosy atmosphere, Great lodging, hot water, and impossible to be cold in those warm bedsheets!!!    Place of rest in the busy city of Uyuni and the perfect place to start your visit of the Salar.

We stayed here twice this month-once before leaving for the salt flats and after we returned. Rooms are basic but more then fit our needs. It is clean and I found the staff to be extremely helpful. There is a curfew at 11 but we alerted the hotel to our late arrival due to a snafu with our plane trip from La Paz. They supplied a heater so we were very comfortable and warm through the night. WiFi is spotty and the shower head is not ideal but there was more than enough hot water for the both of us to take a shower. Highly recommend.

I stayed here before and after my 2 day tour to the outlying deserts and lagoons. I had plenty of hot water, good WIFI and an electric heater in the room (which I did not use). The beds as soft and comfortable with lots of covers to keep you warm at night. The breakfast is sufficient and on request they will fix you eggs also. I left my backpack in storage there while I was gone for 2 days and also had them do my laundry (additional charge) and the clean laundry and my backpack where waiting for me when I got back. The real plus for me was the location: two blocks from the clocktower where there are all sorts of restaurants and two blocks from the bus stop from where I could pick up my bus early in the morning to go to Potosi (4 hours). This hotel met all my needs.

Good hotel conveniently located near center of the town

Basic but good with friendly service

With a cancelled tour to Toro Toro I was holed up in Uyuni for 2 days at the Tambo Aymara.
The staff were really very sweet & helpful. But thats it.
Bright yellow / blue fleece sheets- under & over, left me ltching for days. It left me wondering - if 20 people check in for just one night, is it logistically possible to launder  that many fleece sheets every day.
A sketchy breakfast - jam & cheese, no butter. The bread finished  one guest helped himself from the kitchen. 20 french guests, one girl in the dining room harassed & running helter skelter . Only one couple got eggs - they went in and asked for them. Surely if breakfast is scheduled for 6.30 you can get coffee ready by 8am. Some tables had jugs of hot water.Most didnt.

Once breakfast is over, the Tambo Aymara has nothing on hand. No coffee or tea as most hotels in Bolivia have. They dont do other meals.

I do think there must be better optio s in Uyuni esp if the tour is booked months in advance ( and paid for)

A pit stop - and thats it

According to the bolivian authorities this Tambo Aymara is not classified as a hotel but some king of a hostel. So please don't present it as a hotel. Due to late booking and lack of rooms on other hotels  i had to arrive there with a group of tourists we stayed 2 nights. 
Rooms are very basic, the place very cold, there where problems with hot water in some rooms, the breakfast is basic, The people that works there are nice but they can't do too much. Better ask for another heater to the room.

This is a hostel and not a hotel!

Very basic hotel, typically used as a transit hotel to take a flight or bus out of Uyuni. We had 2 rooms : one was OK, the other one not (no heater, no warm water, door could not be closed or locked), so we had mixed feelings.  All conversations when via google translate and we finally gave up as we only stayed 1 night to fly out in the morning.   So, if all goes well, it OK, if not, well ... life is an adventure, .

Transit hotel

Only stay there one night for the Uyuni Salt Flat. The hotel with minimum facility, or no facility, low quality. The room is extremely cold at the night time and it require additional block heater to warm it up. This is not recommended.
