I loved the four-night stay I have just had at the Brussels Marriott Grand Place. A technical issue greeted me when I arrived last week with the payment terminals out of action. The staff's relaxed attitude to delaying payment but allowing check-in summed up the overall vibe that I felt the whole time. The front desk team were as friendly and welcoming as highlighted by other reviews. The breakfast team ladies were a delight too with a smile and positive attitude. I would say that the food selection matched any hotel I've stayed in. Different hot food options were available each day to highlight the variety offered and all were delicious. Street noise didn't impact me at night and the room was spacious and comfortable. Although your intention is not to spend your stay in the room, it's a welcome bolthole at times. The only negative was the lounge food being largely confectionery during the day as mentioned by others. There was fruit but the choice was limited. I didn't visit in the evening so I accept that may be a lot better. The hotel location is 30 minutes walk from the Eurostar's Midi train station and a great base for exploring the city centre on foot. Given their number of brands, a stay at an original Marriott reminds you the quality they provide guests.
