Salzburgerhof Appartements

We had apartment number two on the first floor, it was the standard two bedroomed apartment. There was three of us sharing. We were greeted by a lady who showed us around the apartment very thoroughly especially as considering her limited English and our equally poor German. She was extremely nice though and we felt at ease at once. My first impressions of the apartment was that it was very clean and well thought out. The lounge area was small as expected but the two bedrooms were very spacious and well equipped with wardrobe space and drawers. One bedroom had ensuite and the other shower room was accessed from the lounge. Amazing showers and hot water aplenty. The kitchen was very well equipped for cooking, plenty of extra crockery etc for the dishwasher. It was extremely warm in the apartment but we managed to turn down the radiators a little to help. There is a bread service which we used most days, it was great to get your rolls delivered in the morning. The skiroom downstairs is spacious also and plenty of room for skis and a heated boot area. We even had a n English tv channel other than BBC news which we watched a few evenings. We ate several times at the hotel Salzburgerhof who own the apartments, they did a set 4 course meal, soup, salad, choice of 3 meals and a dessert for €14.50 which was excellent value and a lovely quality. We also ate at the restaurant round the corner from the apartments which was nice also. We found some of the restaurants in Flachau fairly expensive from what we are used to in Austria. We arrived after 6 on a Saturday so the supermarkets were closed, we managed to get a few things at a garage type mini market near Salzburg so that was ok and we ate out the first few nights thinking that no supermarkets were closed on the Sunday, however we found they were open for a short period in the busy ski season, useful to know for next time. We hired skis at hervis altenmarkt as they were almost half the price than in flachau and we are familiar with altenmarkt. The area is fantastic for skiing, we skiid at Zauchensee, Flachau, Wagrain, Grafenberg andFlachauwinkl, we found parking to each area was excellent and all very nearby. Would thoroughly recommend these apartments as they are close to the village but nice and quiet away from the busy part. We will definitely be returning with a bigger group next time.
