Pension Schiessling

We spent four days at the Pension Schiessling and loved it. Anif is a quiet town close to Salzburg and close to Untersberg mountain. The pension is ideally situated for walking in the countryside, visiting Hellsbrunn palace, seeing the trick fountains and enjoying the gardens free of charge. You can also catch a bus right by the pension to the station for the cable car up to the top of Untersberg. An unforgettable experience that we highly recommend. The bus will also take you to Salzburg centre in the opposite direction. The pension itself was very clean, comfortable,spacious and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Just as good as a hotel, as far as we are concerned. The family who ran it were extremely attentive, friendly and helpful with suggestions as to places to visit in the neighbourhood. (For example,the Waldbad was a wonderful lake in the countryside nearby but not really near enough to walk. You would need a car to get there.) We had been told that breakfast was not provided but as we are not used to big breakfasts, we found that the tea/coffee, yoghurt, fruit, cereals and juices provided were ample for our needs. Our room was simply great, with a lovely balcony under the eaves and fantastic views of the mountains. The bathroom was fine with a self-contained shower and plenty of hot water as well as splendid views of different mountains. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would love to return.
