Great place for overnight stay.  Undercover parking in front of room.  Comfortable bed and pillows.  Good size room with tea and coffee making facilities.  Bathroom was new and clean with great shower facilities.  Easy access from Motorway.  Helpful staff.

On our way to Bribie Island

Comfortable and convenient location, HOWEVER woke up in the morning to cold showers. When we brought this to the managers attention, her response was that because the weather was cloudy, the hot water system couldn’t generate enough solar heat. Probably wouldn’t recommend to anyone staying on cloudy days then. Not good enough. Definitely need to update their hot water system!

No hot water

We booked this at very short notice as we were on a motorcycle trip and were delayed a day because of heavy rain called at 8 am and were in a room by 10.30am the lady Sammy I think her name is was more than helpful  We were in another motel and they were booked out for the extra night (and it was pretty tired to be honest) The people in a couple of the shops tried to steer us away as they did not realize this has motel has not long been given a makeover .Rooms are clean and modernly furnished and decorated  ,beds and pillows are great ,beautiful views ,above the road noise ,swimming pool and spa .Nothing was too much trouble for the host .Maclean is one of our goto places and so will this motel from now on

Don't listen to the locals great place to stay

I’d stayed at Motel Maclean on four previous occasions, this time under new ownership, great renovation/refurbishment and Sammy’s management was a whole new and improved experience.
New old style hospitality with crockery plates, s/s cutlery, mugs, real milk in a cold clean fridge, couple of biscuits, shampoo/conditioner/soap, heat pump with clean filters, great pillows, well-made bed, excellent wifi.
I live in NZ and drive Brisbane to Melbourne each time (generally annually) I come over visiting my extended family and Maclean is the perfect break on the return leg of the journey from Sydney to Brisbane.
In my mid seventies so look for faults and found one - the leading edges of the ceiling fan blades need a wipe……

An improved experience

Very clean and comfortable, good sized room and nicely renovated bathroom with generous lovely products. Toaster available if needed and microwave with basic cutlery and plates in room which is very helpful for a quick breakfast. Friendly helpful staff and nice view of the river. 

Pleasant comfortable motel 

Stayed the night at this lovely motel which overlooks the mughty Clarence River just on the outskirts of MacLean. We found the room very comfy quiet and spotless.  We even had 'real milk' and big coffee mugs!  Enjoyed a vino while watching the sun set from the elevated outdoor area in front of the motel.

The staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us.

Motel MacLean - great overnight stay

Stayed here for a few nights because I was working down here and I actually enjoyed it. Place was spacious and provided everything you needed such as coffee, milk, shampoo etc. staff were easy to deal with. 

Would come baxk

I was evacuated due to the bushfires and was put up at this motel.  It is basic with very comfortable beds and remodelled bathrooms.  It is very clean with a microwave, toaster and mini fridge.  It has aircon and a fan. The water pressure in the showers is great (which is important to me).  The rooms are bright and airy and they have really good curtains which block out the light if you want a nap during the day.
The owners are absolutely lovely and really looked after all of the displaced people.
I enjoy sitting outside and looking out over the river.  It's a lovely view.
I highly recommend this motel if you're looking for something affordable in Maclean.

I've stayed in many motels in NSW and QLD at the same price point and this is one of the best!

Stayed here when evacuated by the fires - Great place; nice people

We stayed three nights last week at the Maclean Motel. Lina is the nicest lady who went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. She even offered to do a load of washing which we were very appreciative of. The beds were comfortable and the pool a cool treat at the end of a long day playing and watching cricket. Because of Lina's beautiful hospitality, I will be encouraging the whole team to book next year to support this great little motel. Courtesy buses pick up also for a night out at the Club or Pub. Thankyou Lina and staff.

Friendly and comfortable

This is a great place to stop for the night on your way to QLD from Sydney, we have now stopped here on 3 separate occasions.
We have always found the Motel to be spotlessly clean and hosts very welcoming. There are currently new owners and they are improving the place even more.
