Walter is the owner of this place. He is warm. Caring and makes sure his guest get great attention. 
Walter really goes out of his way. I wanted a scooter and he got me one right away without a contract. He's very open, caring and trusting. He deserves everyone's business.

The place is relaxed. Comfortable and clean. The town is a little isolated this time of year but It's really great. Lots of nice people come and stay and its very communal.

And let's not forget Luis and David.. the staff. They are all amazing people.

What a wonderful place

A very nice hostel in the Punta del Este area (it's La Barra, about 7 km drive to Punta). The host, Walter was super friendly and helpful. The room was okay. The kitchen is fully equipped. There's a supermarket next block. Was easy to park a car.

Great location close to shops but not too noisy. Beach a 10 min walk.

Rooms were clean & comfortable- especially the beds. Beautiful big window that opens up and the breeze cools the room (there is aircon too) Each bed had a big locker (own lock) 

Common areas were spacious & very new bathrooms. Wifi was good. 

I would stay again. 

Very Good

I stayed here for 4 days towards the end of January. It was definitely one of my best hostel experiences throughout my travels. The staff is top notch. They were incredibly nice, helpful and treated us like family. The location is great because you are just a short walk into the town of La Barra. The bus stop is right next to the hostel if you want to go into Punta del Este. I would definitely recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed!

One of my best hostel experiences

Well.. Where can I start? Uy Punta Hostel definitely exceeded my expectations. The place is 24/7 clean and neat, as well as very smoothly organized. In addition, what can be highlighted is the warm atmosphere among the stuff and guests. Something unique and very enjoyable! Place that I would surely come back. My experience: 5 STARS!
