The place was super clean but a few problems. WiFi is unsecure and patchy at best. I used my cellular hotspot and personal data most of the time. Tiny pool is not exactly heated as was too cold to swim in at night.  Pics are not exactly realistic and they go by “boutique hotel” on Airbnb, Expedia, and other travel sites. I was told there was no availability by staff to stay additional night but was able to make a reservation on the travel sites regardless (I did not confirm for obvious reasons). Microwave blew out first night and they only provide bathing soap. They have new Roku TVs but you should bring extra AAA batteries along with dish soap to wash dishes in bathroom. Not  much parking but you can use alleys if need be. No kitchen sink so used my bathroom sink to wash dishes. There was a large fridge and plenty of kitchen accessories. Convenient Circle K next door and easy beach access!  Great in-room dunkin doughnuts coffee, lots of beach and regular towels, and guests were super sweet.  Seemed very family friendly with good mattress. Staff and owners friendly as well! There are a lot of businesses within walking distance including restaurants, banks, and bars. Regardless of problems, it was extremely affordable and I would go back

Very clean, Great view of the pool, pool is crystal clear and warm, the kitchen is all set to go, the beds are very comfortable, the owners make the stay great, the beach is a easy walk from the motel, the beach faces the sunset and has white sand, the location is in the center of all the great beaches, many good places to eat very close by. walking paths that go along the beach.We are going to keep coming back.

Great place to stay

If you want a room to enhance every allergy known to man, stay here!  If you need a kitchenette, that consists of cutlery and dishes in a drawer stay here!  If you are leaving 20 minutes after check out and have to pay for an entire night because this was not what you signed up for, then this junk hole is the place for you! Don't Do It!!

We had our second stay at the Mardi Gras motel and still love it as much as we did the first time.  We were thrilled to see the charm and quality all remained as wonderful as they were the first time we stayed here.  This is a small family owned and operated motel with only 10 rooms.  The rooms are impeccably clean without even the slightest trace of cigarette smoke. When we stay here we reserve the rooms that have the full kitchen.  We enjoy being able to shop for and prepare our own food so this amenity is very important to us.   Each room over look the wonderful pool.  The grounds are comfortable and spotlessly clean.  The customer service we have received at this motel is far better than we have ever experienced at any other location we have stayed at.  We have since booked our third stay at the Mardi Gras Motel and look forward to many more to come.

Second stay and still love this motel

Staying at Mardi Gras with just myself (mom) and daughter.  We were unfamiliar with the island and just picked Mardi Gras based on our budget and other reviews.  Let me tell you, the reviews were spot on!  The place is charming, the owners are very kind, and the rooms are clean.  I forgot my shampoo, and although they don't normally provide it, the owner gave me some.  The pool area is small but well taken care of.  Being two women alone, we felt very safe and secure.  It's more "old Florida" than the newer fancy resorts....but has character. Beach is close by (one block walk).

Just Right

We arrived at the Mardi Gras Motel after a long trip from the UK via Orlando, upon arrival we were made to feel very welcome and while my husband spoke with the owner the kids were straight into the pool!  They pool was spotless and well maintained, I loved the decorations all around the pool too.  

The next day we were due to spend the day on the beach and the owner said we could borrow anything from her stash of beach chairs, body boards, kids beach toys etc, this was very welcome as we didn't have anything with us and didn't really want to buy chairs.

The room, bathroom and kitchen were super clean, with everything that you could possibly need for your stay.  

We booked through Expedia and had a problem with being overcharged and while Expedia didn't want to know about sorting the problem out, however the owner went through all of her payment slips and backtracked everything for us and refunded to my credit card on the spot which we really appreciated as we had been chasing the refund through Expedia for over 6 weeks before we travelled!

Again a nice place to stay. Across the street from the beach. A nice walk way is to take you there. Hotel is clean pool is nice and clean. Places to eat within walking distance. Has a grill too. Just don't cook on it to late at night.

This is the perfect little motel to stay at. Everything was clean and nice. Mardi Gras motel is a classic 50s style cement block style that defines Treasure Island. The room was small, clean and well equipped. The pool was super clean and just the right temperature. The owner was kind efficient and helpful. What stands out the most though is that every one of the guests was just as happy to be there as I was. It created a relaxing positive vibe that made you just happy to be there.
