This place had such potential but was a dump!  The best thing I could say was that the bath towels were nice and fluffy.  That was all the towels we had. Had to change rooms because the first room recked of smoking, the 2 air conditioners did not work, the carpet had cigarette burns and was dirty.  The next room was much smaller, and dirty, not enough linens, coffee maker did not have any coffee or filters, no paper towels, dishes, glasses or utensils for the kitchenette. The upkeep was awful, the bathroom needed a complete redo, horrible job of putty to keep the tiles up and the bugs out. No towel bars or space to put a thing.  The air conditioner had gaps to the outside so the bugs could just come on in.

Don't even think about it.

Great deal. The town is amazing, and this hotel rents out a whole lodge for each person. Really cool. And working fireplaces!

The charming cottages are modernized but inside there is a perfectly balanced comfort factor and classical taste. Nothing was left to be desired...Absolutely worth the reasonable rate and perfectly located in Manitou Springs. The family run business is so far my favorite stay now in this area. Great, courteous service and 100% clean and cozy.

Coziest cabins

Beautiful place in winter and the rooms really clean, good place to go with family , manitou springs downtown it’s pretty close and old Colorado city too. Pretty sure I’m going back to el Colorado lodge ! Mountain vibes around all the place !!

Good lodge

Our road trip included a midday adventure through Manitou Springs… we decided to stay the night.  Every place we stopped at with vacancy could not accommodate  2 adults and a Tween.  We happened upon this little lodge, aesthetically adorable, quiet looking and quaint area. We called the #on the door and they got us taken care of. We got #21.  It appeared to be clean. It did smell like cigarettes. Queen bed in a bedroom, futon in the living room.
No cable,  Roku in the living room only, no TV in the bedroom. Updated bathroom vanity,  toilet and shower. It had a cute little coffee bar. Was decorated nicely, it felt cozy.  Our AC unit in the bedroom worked great, we slept comfortably. Our Tween said she slept ok on the futon, plus,  it was better than the “floor option” offered by the bigger chain hotels we stopped at. Overall, it suited us for what we needed for the night.  The people were nice and you can tell they are trying to make improvements around the property. I thought it was lovely.

Last Minute Reservation

We stayed here in the past however it had been about 7 years since we been here. I am not sure if they changed ownership or the owners just don't care anymore. The floors were laminate and we had to wear shoes so our feet wouldnt turn black because very dirty floors, as a matter of fact the room was all pretty dirty.  The shower would not drain and the bed had broken springs. The remote control for the TV was useless, I had to put shoes on to go turn it on and adjust volume. My parents have ran a motel so I hate to bash anyone trying to make a place go, but the owners are so out of touch with the place its actually quite sad. They are sitting on a goldmine but running it like a landfill. For the prices they charge they can surely afford to do minimal work to keep up the place but they refuse to. I really use to think this place was a good place to stay but we will not be coming back here again. You cant even go complain to office as they only are only in the office 8-5 which are ridiculous hours for a motel, this alone shows the people are not committed to keeping up a respectable place. I seen where the lady commented on a review and mentioned housekeepers being  there for a paycheck was a  bad thing, well the owners are just there for a paycheck. I would not recommend this place.

So disappointed

Joke. Barely got the front door key to work. Worn out carpets. Stove top broken. Remotes for tv a joke. Terrible tvs. One light bulb in the three bulb vanity light strip. Electrical nightmare. Broke down old property that saw its better days maybe 30 years ago. $98 dollars for one night. Worst hotel I've ever visited. Tom Bodett would serve you better.  Sleep in your car.
