The room was fine we were very apprehensive. Mollified by room clean and simple you get what you pay for.

Given key for front door I don’t know why they bothered the2 other doors were left open all night no night receptionist to keep people out we were awoken on 3 occasions up to 4 am of people trying to break into the room.

Management lock the place down and review would have been good clean but simple. I frankly felt unsafe and was on verge of calling the police if I could have got back into my car I would have

Well you get what you pay for its clean and tidy basic rooms decent shower and bath though. Just don't stay here is f you want a lay in or are working nights the cleaners are very loud they shout out to each other down the corridors they also allow the doors to slam etc you would thought seeing the do not disturb sign on doors they would show more consideration!!. If it was not for the very very loud cleaners I would given 5 stars!! 

Only stay if you wake up early! 

Great hotel our host Raj was brilliant, very friendly on arrival and made us feel very welcome. We will be back in the future for sure, very comfy beds and the room was very tidy and clean. Great location and right near Wetherspoon. Parking is a short walk away

Friendly hotel

I have seen some very harsh reviews on this place but it didn’t put me off booking as I like to make my mind up. So we arrived and the front door window had been smashed and it looks tired and dreary to look at. Had to ring a number to be let in and check in which was a quick process. Had a ground floor room small double and it was absolutely fine!! Comfortable bed, clean and tidy and a clean bathroom.  We were right by the main road but still had a good night sleep even with this. For £44 you really can’t complain and if you want luxury then pay for luxury but it did us perfectly fine! 

You get what you pay for!!!

I always speak as I find and this hotel was booked for me as a surprise from my daughter for my birthday. After reading the reviews I was quite apprehensive, however, on arrival we were checked in very quickly and went to our rooms. We had a family room and my daughter had a small double. Our room was very clean (carpet was dirty, but I’m not sleeping on that!) beds comfy, sheets very clean and crisp, plenty of pillows and a good TV. Could hear traffic noise but wasn’t too bad at actual bedtime, in fact I thought the hotel had a very calm quiet feel to it! All in all it’s not the Hilton but that is reflected in the price...I would definitely stay here again!

Birthday stay! 

I recently stayed here on a business trip for two nights. These are my observations.

After a hard day at work I thought I’d treat myself with a long soak in the bath.

As I reached to turn on the taps I noticed
a pubic hair at the base of the shower screen, and there was built up scum around the overflow of the sink...needless to say I opted for having a shower!

Also the complimentary bottle of water wasn’t replaced on the second day/evening of my stay. It may seem pedantic but my company paid good money for my accommodation and it’s the little things that matter.

The overall aesthetic of the building looked tired, from the broken window in the reception to the ‘anyone found using drugs on the property will be removed by the police’ notice added to the general gloomy ambiance.

The saying ‘you pay for what you get’ definitely applies to the Terrace Lodge but in this instance I believe the £40.00 fee is steep!

Low standards...

I don’t know what to say!! 

Checked in, went up to the room and then checked out within 3 minutes! 

This place needs a revamp, broken curtain rails, floor lifted in the bathroom, rust around the bath and sink, horrible musty smell and only one cup for tea.  

Booked in across the road at The Premiere Inn. 

Shocked!! 

You pay a budget price and you get a budget hotel, bed is relatively uncomfortable but still got a good nights sleep. You get a little tray of teas and coffee is which is very nice and you have a TV with 32 channels which is also good. The curtains let quite a bit of light in which is a downside and the real downside is that after coming back to my room that my door was unlocked and had obviously been left open by the cleaners. I’ve therefore had to cancel my cards and go through a lot of Faff. Although the receptionist was very apologetic and polite.

Overall I'd rate this hotel a 9/10 the only thing letting it down is parking. 

The chap who runs this place couldn't do more to make us comfortable.

Excellent. Great service.

Only good thing about this stay was the man at the reception. Very friendly and helpful. Other than that everything else was disappointing. Got little to no sleep as the bed was uncomfortable, the room smelt damp and fist punch holes in the walls. Very very small room, could barely move. Very noisy all through the night. Didn’t feel safe staying here.
