What did I think about my stay at Sheridan’s?What stay?Booed this with Expedia on 21st febIt just happened that the day we booked to stay was grand national day, coincidence that they couldn’t find our booking, yes because they’d charged 3 times more for someone else to have the room with the grand national going on..Staff couldn’t care less and even when we showed them proof of the booking they just didn’t want to know.Leaving us with nowhere to stay.

I think I'm still traumatised. This place is bad. Not much works. No sockets. It was warm though. Sink and bath wasn't working in shared facilities. I did 7 hours in the room. Checked out early via the fire escape 😀The only way out! Hard to believe that places like this still exist.....

Horrific

Cheap, comfortable basic rooms but didn't enjoy the shared bathroom which was a bit grim by the end of the day and needs updating/decorating (hole in floor and very rusty radiator).  Polite and helpful welcome of a member of the bar staff.

Don't expect 5 star hotel accommodation, but you can expect a Great friendly welcome. Great value clean comfortable bedroom with lovely big towels in the bathroom. Great food, five adults enjoyed different meals.  Great, very friendly and efficient staff, even the lady cleaning in the morning was very cheerful and friendly. Great two night stay, thank you. We will be back.
Although they don't serve breakfast most days, we bought a large fresh bacon bap from Porky's Pantry across the road and took it back to enjoy with a cup of tea in our large room.

GREAT!

I have been less impressed with Sheridan's In the past due to inconsistency of cooking. Today the food was superb,whoever was cooking today needs to be kept on. The pub is brilliant, atmosphere great, warm,if the food stays this good, we will be there more. Well done Sue and the staff for all your hard work to make this place so inviting.

Proper quality food

Perfect one night stay. Plenty of parking, clean room with plenty of space and clean bathroom. Wasn’t too noisy considering it’s by a main road. Very comfy beds, and soft towels provided. We had a late check in and the woman who greeted us was very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend and stay again!

Very good value and friendly staff

Arrived at 19:10 placed order for two fish and chips, still waiting for food at 20:05. Very slow serving bringing out one dish at a time. Got one order on next table wrong brought out kids fish fingers in stead of fish

We stayed here for one night and got an excellent and competitive room rate. It's a basic guest house that does its absolute best. The staff were extremely friendly and obliging and offered us a much bigger en suite room after a short notice cancellation. 

It had all the usual comforts and was clean and spacious. The carpets were a bit tired looking and could do with a good deep clean or replacement. 

The bar downstairs is pretty lively on a Saturday night with live music so if you staying on a saturday night be prepared for some noise. 

We had breakfast downstairs and once again the staff were attentive and obliging and very friendly; even serving us in the garden. 

So all in all a real value for money joint. We would come back without hesitation. Although not a 4 star hotel I  have rated this a 4 because of the all round package. The staff are a real plus with this place!! And they probably tipped my review into the 4 category space. 

A value for money stay

In July I booked 3 nights stay for November to go to my Nephew's Wedding.
At 7am on the morning of departure I picked up an email that my hotel had been cancelled due to 'overbooking'  I was absolutely devastated and so upset - I just could not believe what I was reading -   how could my booking be cancelled so close to my departure?! It then took 3 hours of constantly calling the hotel before someone answered the phone. I was then told  that my room had not been overbooked, but was not ready as the rooms were being renovated, so I could not stay.  Surely the hotel knew this way before the day.  It they had informed me at least a week earlier I could have chosen an alternative hotel in the same location without the stress and upset.  What an awful experience - so stressful and so upsetting prior to what was to be a joyous occasion not a stressful and upsetting one.  I am appalled at the way I was treated and will certainly not book with this hotel again in the future.

Terrible Stressful Experience

This was a lovely guest house and the staff went out of their way to make sure that everyone was happy. The locals in the bar were very friendly. I assumed that it would be very basic for the price but i was pleasantly surprised. The bedding and towels were extremely clean (pure white) and all the rooms were very clean. I would definitely return.
