Myself and my partner stayed in the caroline suite in July 2017.
initially we found the male owner polite and chatty.
On the morning of departure the male seemed angry and agitated.
I informed him that we were running 5 mins late and due to my partners medical conditions that had worsened overnight.He appeared to dismiss me out of hand but made no comment.
Whilst I was loading the car he went into our room without knocking and told my partner to get out or be thrown out ! When I was told by my partner I went to see the male partner about his actions but he refused to speak to me. His body language was aggressive and confrontational. My partner was scared and we left the property.
In summary I feel the male owner may have anger issues and this has been raised before on trip advisor. BEWARE!!!!!!!

Anger issues

Spent four nights at the Windsor Carlton most enjoyable location fab near beach, 2 minutes walk into town Hotel was impeccable we stayed in room Caroline, The breakfast was a delight so many choices. Host's very nice and accomidating will certainly call again.

Great place to stay,lovely room,sea view

A very friendly welcome, clean comfy nicely decorated room with sea view, excellent choices at breakfast, great location for exploring the Isle of Wight, nice quiet sea front walk. Cannot fault this place.

We stayed at this place for 5 nights in September. We found the price very steep.
We had a room at the top of the Hotel which overlooked the streets at the back of the Hotel. There was very little privacy as people were working on one of the roofs and could see straight in. There was only a shower and you had to come out of the bathroom to use the tiny sink outside the room to wash your hands, all of which gave the room a bedsit feel. The breakfast which was served was good and varied but they only gave you a 30 minute window when they were serving and it was too early. They were supposed to clean the room and this was done between 10am-12pm but on several occasions they never came, also it meant you had to leave your room for 2 hours hoping they would clean the room, they did not re-stock the coffee's and teas or toilet rolls and the bed was intensely itchy and both me and my Girlfriend came out in rashes, perhaps they use cheap washing detergent

Not very Welcoming

We recently spent three nights at the Windsor Carlton and it was so lovely.  Our room was at the top and back of the house overlooking Boniface Down.  It was spotlessly clean, very comfy and quiet.  Two very minor details - the shower could have done with a little more pressure for the water and the wire on the hairdryer was too short to be able to stand infront of the mirror.  As I said, very MINOR details.  The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful and there was a great selection for breakfast.  We would certainly stay here again.
