Abbey Lawn Hotel

We have just returned from a five day break at the Abbey Lawn Hotel. We cannot praise Daish and the Abbey Lawn Hotel staff highly enough. Our stay was very comfortable, the food was good especially for the price paid, all the staff were attentive and helpful. Special thanks to Nathen for his organisation/assistance, the lovely Bar Manager (who was also on Reception at times) and the lovely Waitress who served our meals (very many apologies for not noting your names which is unforgivable considering the way we were looked after by you both!). The coach drivers there and back were very professional - thank you for a comfortable trip.. The Abbey Lawn Hotel is conveniently situated close to the town within easy walking distance for those who are mobile and there are plenty of nearby bus stops for those who are not. Buses to Paignton and other places of interest are also nearby. On the day it began to rain we opted for a taxi ride which turned out to be very inexpensive - there is a phone in reception that puts you straight through to taxis which we found useful. The swimming pool is an added bonus. Our room was spacious with more than adequate storage space, with a good sized bathroom. The conservatory is spacious and warm even on colder days and a good place to be when we were not out. There is also a pleasant sun terrace outside. The day trip was very reasonably priced. Yes the hotel is tired (not throughout) but we have stayed at more expensive hotels in need of more attention than the Abbey Lawn. All in All this 5 day break was really good value for money. We are recommending Daish to all our friends, will definitely be holidaying with Daish again and would certainly return to this hotel.
