Very disappointed, would rather stay in a tent outside. Hairs in the bed, windows covered in black mould, no bins in the room, people slamming doors and being noisey, stains on the blinds, shocking wifi reception, tv nearly hanging off the wall, stains on the walls, dust on surfaces, would not stay here again sorry

So I've been to many events, and parties here over the years, and i can't say I've really had a problem. But after attending an event here on Saturday I am very disappointed with how things have changed. Upon arrival we went straight to the bar to order a drink, we all paid separately and I was disgusted to be charged £7.50 for a double Jack Daniels in a tiny little plastic cup, I was flabbergasted and so were my friends after ordering their expensive drinks too, just for one shot they are charging £4.80... Also Bar staff were rude and miserable looked like they didn't want to be there, no smiles, no polite service and no manners.. There were quite a few unhappy people that night that I had spoken to that said they wouldn't be returning again. The ladies toilets were also very unclean, and wasn't even stocked up with loo roll. As a whole the reggae event we attended was brilliant and hopefully the next one they do will be somewhere a little better.... 

Extortionate and rude!!! 

I had this venue for our daughters 40th birthday party manager was nice at hiring point but turned into a bully and rude person interrupting function at every opportunity possible.
We had the front room it was like a furnace heat in it was at a level which completely does not comply with health and safety as it was too hot to stay in the room meaning most of our guests ended up standing outside.
Accomodation was substandard the beds were not quality beds and horrible to sleep on.
The whole experience felt like the manager and all the stuff around it was just trying to drive us away from the function I don’t even know why they accepted our booking because they made our life hell and were  arrogant enough to not hide it , they are the rudest people I’ve met at any venue they should not be working in hospitality.

 Absolutely amazing little place. Owners were so friendly and welcoming. The room was perfect for our little stay. Clean and tidy.
Great atmosphere.  Drinks not expensive.
Just a lovely little place all round.
Would definitely come back.

What a little gem of a place
Really clean, comfortable place to stay - bed was super comfy 
Breakfast really good value for money
Reasonable cost to stay 
Absolutely ideal venue rooms for birthday, weddings etc two really good sized rooms with own bars away from main pub area 
Plenty of room and seating outside with child friendly area 
Emma the manager is a little “pocket rocket” works relentlessly hard and has a smile for everyone 
The staff also so friendly and nothing too much trouble for any of them 
Can’t wait to stay again 😊

Little gem of a place 😀

Should have stayed 2 nights but left after 1. Someone was trying to get into our room at midnight. This is not a hotel it is more like a working men's club. Food awful. No one on reception when we left. It was all locked up so couldn't ask for a refund.  This place is not what it advertiser's. No soap etc. Not even a plug for the sink. No where to hang clothes. Only a stool in the bedroom. Thin walls. Going to work on getting a refund. It is not a hotel. The only positive is the bed was clean. Never again. Have tried ringing and left messages but no-one has had the courtesy to reply. When eating the terrible food a few locals were setting up a bingo night, moving tables and chairs around us. Not even speaking to us. Left most of the food. The person in charge did not even show. Asked for refund and was told they could not give it as it was booked through bookings.com. now will chase as the place is not fit for purpose.!!!!

No reception, the room didn't look clean and felt cold and damp, we ended up not staying and loosing our money and coming home £70 is alot of money for the quality. And the party we went to my husband is diabetic no non alcoholic drinks available terrible.👎😔

Minworth Club and Lodge rooms

my company arranged a stay here for some colleagues and unfortunately there was a mix up with the booking. We where charged for 3 rooms when we actually only needed 2 rooms. Despite paying the full balance at the time we are still awaiting a refund for the mis-booking ( hotels mistake) this dates back to October and despite many many phone calls & emails we are still awaiting this.
Danielle if you see this please do send over our refund asap.

What a disappointment and a shock! This place to our horror turns out to be a "working men's club" which is a bit intimidating for a couple of gay men! That aside this place is quite simply not fit for purpose. It is VERY tired and in parts falling down - DON'T BELIEVE THE PHOTOS!!!!  The room was warm and had clean sheets and bed was comfy, but that is where the good points end. We had to share our en-suite facilities: a small, dirty shower room with a broken toilet with total strangers in the other room with NO LOCK ON THE DOOR!! There was also no hot water. The fire/smoke alarm was hanging off the ceiling and no fire extinguishers - they need reporting! The whole place felt unloved, unsafe and a shambles. We booked and paid for two nights, but left just after one. AVOID!!!!!

PLEASE DON'T THINK ABOUT STAYING - DREADFUL!!!

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life,I had two children with me one being a 4 year old who ended up Poorly the night after staying in the room, really bad mould in the bathroom covering the ceiling, a horrible smell in the bathroom with no ventilation, mouse poo also in the bathroom, ripped bed base, brown stained pillows, and the bed sheets revealed the mattress as they didn’t fit, tv was broken, no Wi-Fi, and we could t open the window as there were people smoking weed outside at 11pm and the smell was horrendous coming into our room, 
Staff seemed like they didn’t have a clue and no one there in the morning when handing key back to the key box, no security as door to your rooms was open all the time and anyone could of came in, layers of dust on the pictures in the room, my youngest child had to go home instead of staying the second night as he was so poorly, I put it down to the mould and no ventilation… would never ever step foot in ever again
