High Meadows Guest House

My husband and I stayed at High Meadows for one night when attending a party in the village.  The house is beautiful and has been lovingly decorated in the Arts and Crafts style, to a very high standard.  We had a superior room, which was spacious, spotlessly clean, had a wonderful bathroom with a slipper bath and separate shower plus a very generous tea tray with fresh milk.  Julie and her husband were great hosts; friendly, upbeat, positive and very attentive.  We had a great nights sleep and the next morning, a delicious breakfast.

I would definitely recommend High Meadows and don’t think the photographs online reflect how lovely it is.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at High Meadows and I absolutely love this Guest House. The room was spotlessly clean and the house is full of character and charm. Julie and Andrew are great. We didn't want a cooked breakfast, so had cereal, toast, fruit and yogurt - lovely and plenty of choice.

We stayed at this guest house and were made to feel very welcome. The bedroom was large with a very comfortable bed, and the bathroom had plenty of space with a roll top bath and a separate shower.  Breakfast consisted of cereals, toast and a full cooked breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband found this guest house and booked.  We arrived to be greeted by Julie who was very friendly.  She showed us to our room which was very spacious.  The bathroom had a rolled top bath along with a separate shower cubicle.  The room was warm and cosy with tea & coffee making facilities.  Not long after arriving there was an electric shortage and Julie quite quickly got to solving the issue.  She made us coffee as the kettle wasn't working and told us to call her if we needed more.  We left to go for dinner and a party.  On returning that evening all of the electric was back on and the rooms lovely and warm.  Breakfast the following morning was plentiful and we spent a nice amount of time finding out the history of the house.  Would definitely recommend and would love to have a return visit some time.

We picked this Guest House for an overnight stay based on the high ratings it had received and we weren’t disappointed. It is a wonderful Arts & Crafts designed house that is maintained to impeccable standards. Julie the owner is very friendly and welcoming and cooks a great Full English (grilled not fried).  The location is fine and quiet and the proximity to the Shugborough Estate and canal makes for a great base for walking.

We booked a night here after moving off our narrowboat after 22 years of living aboard. We are so pleased we found this place as in a very tired and emotional state as we were meeting Julie was a tonic. She was so friendly and welcoming and just what we needed at that point in time. The whole place is spotlessly clean and the room was probably the most comfortable we have ever encountered in a b&b. After a superb nights sleep we arrived downstairs to a fabulous breakfast of the highest standard with excellent locally sorced produce cooke and served to perfection. I would not hesitate to book here again and would highly recommend it. Thank you Julie.

As we wanted to visit shugborough NT estate we needed an overnight stop off so that we could take in other properties nearby. By pure chance we stumbled across High Meadows , well thank goodness we did. From arrival to departure we couldn’t have found fault with anything. Our rooms were beautiful and the beds so comfortable. The bathrooms were fabulous with every possible toiletry  catered for. The welcome tray was indeed very welcome with an abundance of tea, coffee and biscuits, we could have even had fresh milk if we had required it. Breakfast was beautiful, we didn’t feel rushed and with fresh fruit , cereals, juice and a full cooked breakfast we all left so refreshed to start our day. Would certainly both recommend and return.
