Always a great night spent here. Friendly staff, good food, and great beers on tap, what more can you ask for? They have a great menu and are very accommodating. Nice to see someone running a place where you feel so at home.

OldSkool club night 

Everything and everybody including staff and locals! We couldn’t have been more welcomed, especially bringing our dog who was totally spoilt and comfortable with our stay over two nights. The room was perfect, spacious, clean and cosy! Miranda was the most friendliest and genuine person, who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Breakfast was fab (and our dog enjoyed a sausage 😜) and as for dinner, wow! Can’t wait to book another stay with the griffin inn! 10/10!!! Coralie, Jamie and Arnie x

Had a lovely meal here tonight with friends, The staff and manager were very friendly and made us feel welcome and kept us laughing non stop! 
Food was delicious and great value for money. 
We all will be coming back very soon!

Highly recommend

The Griffin is a charming 16th Century Inn with spacious accomodation and a welcome that is second to none. Breakfast is first-class, and all requests were catered for. Evening meal was eqully good. The dining area is very comfortable and homely. The landlady is cheerful and extremely helpful, and the atmosphere in the bar was friendly and welcoming.

Went to the Griffin last night, both decided on the sirloin steak (well done) it was so tender we didn't even need a steak knife, with the home made onion rings, nice chunky chips and a lovely salad, we will be back again for sure

Anniversary meal

We are here tonight and had an excellent family meal, the bar staff and waitress were very accomodating and friendly. In particular the pies were extremely tasty . We would definitely eat here again .

Lovely family meal at the Griffin

We had been walking in Southwold and were making our way back to Beacon Hill, but it was still light and we were hungry. We had driven through Yoxford and I was impressed by the interesting architecture of the village and so we made a mental note to stop on the way back. We wandered about enjoying the village,and then needed something to eat. We went into the bar, the locals were boisterous and friendly. We were shown into the restaurant, which had two parties already , given our menus and served our drinks. I had Adnams Bitter which was very good, (Abbott was available but I was driving). I had Steak and Ale pie, The Boy had Sausage and Mash , my wife had Minestrone with gluten-free bread.  The locally sourced pie was excellent as were the sausages. The side serving of vegetables (which is difficult to serve correctly at the best of times) and the mash were excellent. My wife`s minestrone was cold, but was soon warmed up without delay. There were three other tables being served and all were quickly served and all seemed to enjoy their meals. One party seemed to be regular customers.  
The food was hot and tasty, quickly prepared and very good value for money.The service was friendly and efficient. In preparing the menu, The Griffin knows what is popular with it`s customers and tries to make sure it is done well. It succeeds. Would definitely revisit.

Delightful village , delightful Griffin

On passing through Yoxford we decided to stop at the Griffin Inn for a drink and lunch. Because of the dreaded virus that’s about it was almost devoid of customers. However, we were warmly greeted and we asked if they were  serving food. . We opted for the sandwiches which were freshly made and tasted so good. A quaint old style pub and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. On the A1120 just before you get to the A12.

Can’t comment on the food, as we haven’t had a meal here, but the welcome is friendly, the beer is good, the pool table works, and dogs are welcome. Parking is available on site and it would be a good place to stay for touring.

Great, friendly pub

A shame because the staff were very nice and the food was good, but the place was extremely noisy. It was like staying above a packed night club on both Saturday and Sunday night, not good at all if looking for sleep or quiet relaxing.
