Visited here on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Menu only small, Sunday dinner or a couple of curry dishes and sides to choose from. 
We both opted for curry with a rice and naam bread to share. Food was fairly quick to come but we bought out before our plates and cutlery so sat getting cold whilst we waited then only bought a spoon each and no napkins. Food was good but a little expensive for what we got. Our son wanted an ice cream for pudding, we stood at the bar for around 10 minutes before anybody appeared, then a older blonde lady came behind the bar and told us we'd have to wait whilst she put an order through which must of taken another ten minutes as there was some kind of problem she was was moaning about to a younger bar girl who was clearly uncomfortable that we were still waiting to pay for a single cornetto. She couldn't find the ice cream on the till so had to charge us for a sundae meaning a normal strawberry cornetto cost me £3.50, absolute rip off. 
The attitude of the lady and slowness or service has put us off coming back which is a shame as the food was good. 

Shame about staff 

Worst Sunday lunch ever. Raw fat served as lamb, chicken too tough to chew, birthday treat ruined. Long wait and certainly not worth it. Many complained some walked out. I wish we had. Staff under pressure no sign of management. Shocking, never again

Booked in for one night B&B + Evening meal some two weeks in advance as it was Mothering Sunday weekend
When we arrived there was plenty of parking but with a party in the function room if we had arrived late we would not have been able to park!
We were given Room 16 which although very basic would have been OK had it not been so very cold, the small electric heater was not adequate for the room!
Went to our evening meal at 6pm and was shown to a table, I noticed that several other tables had Reserved signs on them but ours didn't!
After 20 minutes without service (when other people had arrived and orders had been taken for drinks etc,) I went to the bar and asked "If there was any danger of being served tonight?"
Nat replied yes what table are you at to which I replied the one you put us on!
We informed Nat that we were in Room 16 and that earlier we had opened a tab when we had some drinks
Orders taken and drinks delivered (though not the actual cider I had ordered) and we waited for our food
Nat returned to say that they didn't have any squid for the starter but they could do one with prawns if that was OK
Nat then asked what room we were in and was again told Room 16
Then Nat returned to ask if I had ordered a side of onion rings and when I said yes she said OK I'll add them to your order
Our starters arrived and were hot and tasty
But the Lamb Shank main was as tough as old boots and would not come off the bone!
When Nat aske if everything was OK with our meal my wife informed her about the poor quality of the Lamb Shank and we were informed that it was from a reputable local supplier but we could order something else instead
As we had been there for some 90 minutes now we declined and Nat said she would not charge for the Lamb Shank
Meanwhile I was not enjoying my Berger and Chips and left it half eaten
We paid our (reduced) bill and went to our room 
Breakfast was OK for what it was and we left to go home
We will NOT be going back to The Inn On The Wye

Not at all a good experience!

Lovely pleasant stay, nothing too much trouble. Ate in the restaurant for an evening meal which was very nice. Plenty to eat at breakfast, all cooked fresh to order. Would recommend a walk at Symonds Yat, we also visited Monmouth, Abergavenny, Barry Island and Mcarthurglen Designer Outlet, Bridgend.

Welcoming place to stay

Went for Valentines Menu at lunchtime today . Chinese food 3 courses it was wonderful  . Staff and owner was very attentive and charming.  Even down to explaining recipe for the food.  Very 
Treasonable priced as well. Will be back soon  .thank you

Lunchtime meal

We went for a Sunday roast dinner today and the whole experience was superb from the welcoming staff on arrival to the plentiful food and good service. Great value for money too. I would thoroughly recommend this place.

A little gem.😘

Mixed review, very clean, bed comfortable and helpful, friendly staff. It lacked the finishing touches. The shower was not working properly. The food let it down . Breakfast was average, not much choice. Cold choices were very basic. Cooked breakfast eggs over cooked. Limited menu for evening meal and dishes not available. 

Good bits and not so good bits

Stopped for Sunday lunch before heading home after a weekend camping. Lovely pub, good food and reasonably priced. Very busy so took a while for food to arrive but we were prewarned by staff of the wait. Great roast lamb with fresh veg and great Yorkshire puds. Worth a visit.

We came to the inn on the Wye for the second time. Our last time was 2021 and it has improved no end. The rooms are very clean and have everything you need. Service was friendly and efficient. We will be back in a few months on our next visit to the area. Thanks

Second Visit

Sunday roast was fabulous - best roast potatoes from a pub I’ve ever had! However - we visited on a quiet day and the atmosphere was rubbish. The staff couldn’t be bothered! They never smiled, no greeting and just spent their time chatting to each other. The food was served without cutlery or condiments. We had to ask, twice. No-one came to check it was ok. They just didnt want to be there. Shame. The food was great, hence the score, but I doubt I’d return.
