Came here to visit a show, looked at the other reviews and wasn’t too confident on how good it would be, by god I was wrong the room was amazingly clean albeit a bit old fashioned but it’s an old building so it seems fitting so I can’t fault it, the staff are very friendly and eager to help in any way they can. I would 100% stay here again.

Amazing room

This is a cheap budget hotel. Rooms are clean, perfectly comfortable and adequate. No real luxuries and all a bit haphazard BUT the friendly staff, decent breakfast and helpfulness at this largely family run hotel make up for any shortcomings. 
I have stayed multiple times and will be back again.

Close to city centre

Booked here for a romantic night with my freind we do the fifty shades of grey stuff only good for hotels was a lush room basic but every thing we needed tidy clean and presentable the morning after the night before woke up ravengess for a bite to eat and went down stairs for breakfast to be greeted by freindly staff coffee orange juice the coffee tasted like very weak cats pee and the breakfast lacked flavour evreything looked bland it was disgusting no hash brown either basic hotel okay for a romantic night away but be warned check in staff are freaky and the breakfast is disgusting 

Romantic night 

Stayed here a month ago while working at the nearby East of England Showground.  Room was slightly cramped and decor could certainly do with an update, but it did its job as a fairly comfy place to sleep.  Bed was comfortable and bathroom clean, the only downside was the advertised free Wifi did not work.  Breakfast was good and restaurant staff attentive.  If you're looking for luxury then avoid, but if you just need a simple place to sleep for a night then this place does the job.

Basic, but good

Got there it took ages to book In had to call someone using my own phone, the two people that turned up were very rude. 

Got into the room and the carpets were dirty, holes in the doors, the plug sockets were broken and someone stole the TV remote. The rooms needed an upgrade cause it looked like I was staying with my nans.

Thought I was having breakfast but found out they don't do it but that wasn't a problem we went weatherspoons.

After moaning to a women she moved us to a better room.

People were banging all night must of been having a party, someone must of been hard of hearing cause everyone could hear the TV. 

The truth 

Had to pay twice as booking had not sent payment through and had to fight to get money back.   Rooms not bad but could be better  good location but not very customer friendly not able to get ground floor very easy as they dont seem to check emails etc.   front desk and phone not monitered very well but parking quite good  close to centre,  hence mixed feelings but wouldn't stay again.

Mixed feelings

We stayed here for the weekend with friends as we had dog shows to attend. The room we were given is on a top floor and very small and very hot, no fan available to hire at reception which is a shame as it made the stay very uncomfortable. I had booked for our party in total 4 room yet it appeared we were given the smallest of all the rooms. There was no hair dryer in the room as advertised so I had to borrow from another room. There is only 1 mirror in the bathroom with nowhere to get ready in the room, had to feed the wire under the bathroom door and dry hair in the bathroom which is not safe. There is also nowhere to hang your clothes up just a few drawers. On the positive side, staff are very friendly, the room was clean and the breakfast was good.
A few adjustments to this hotel that would help with guest comforts would go a long way, unfortunately the lack of basics means we won’t use again.

Not the best

Without a doubt, the worst Hotel, but I have ever stayed in.

Where do I begin? The mattress was terrible springs and lumps. I had to turn it over to find some comfort.

I went to reception at 10:30 and there was no one there.

There was no duvet, and the bedding that was on the bed stank.

The shower did not work.

In the morning, I went to complain, and there was no one to complain too.

So if you want to leave a hotel, feeling as though you would have been better off, sleeping in your car, and perhaps smelling sweeter than for Lodge, hotel is definitely for you .

I would seriously avoid it at all costs.

I complained to Booking.com requesting a full refund, and they offered me a derisory amount, and I have refused that amount.

Just don’t stay there
