This is the 3rd time we have stayed here.  Can't fault this lovely homely pub. Our room was tastefully decorated and spotless. Bed was very comfy and white fluffy towels. English breakfast was perfect. Good alternatives also.
Lovely atmosphere and very helpful friendly staff.  We will be returning again next year . Would highly recommend.

Outstanding village pub.

Had a wedding to attend nearby, so 6 of us stayed here.
Rooms were clean and decorated to a high standard; the staff were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble (even going as far as to try and sort a taxi for us to get home from our wedding) food was lovely using high quality ingredients. A special mention to Amy, a young lady that looked after us and dealt with all our requests with a smile!

Beautiful place to stay

We called in for lunch on the off chance they might have a free table.  The meal when it arrived was excellent., freshly cooked and tasty. We only had the small bar meals, but watching the other diners main meals come out the portions were huge. 
 The staff were friendly and efficient. The whole place was friendly and comfortable

Excellent

Stayed at the George and Dragon after a small wedding reception. The food and service were  amazing. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the rooms were nicely decorated with small ensuites and tea and coffee making facilities. 
The breakfast which was included in the very reasonable room rate was superb.
Ralph and his team were so accommodating and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Small Wedding Reception

We booked last minute and we are so glad we did. The food was amazing all home made and breakfast was included in our stay and that was also amazing. lovely cosy clean rooms and the staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you we will certainly return.

Amazing stay

Stayed for 2 nights in this lovely Rutland village pub. The room was spotless and tastefully decorated with a small en suite shower room. The breakfast menu was a cut above the usual with choices of avocado and poached eggs on toast etc. The pub also has an excellent restaurant. A little pricey but worth it as very good quality. The staff were all pleasant and friendly as were the locals in the pub. Would reccomend if looking for a Rutland getaway. 

Top notch b and b

Stayed at this delightful bed and breakfast pub after a rather long bike ride around Rutland Water. We were shown to our room ‘The Stag’ it was lovely, clean and modern. The owner said he was fully booked for dinner but would squeeze us in when we wanted to eat, I thought this was very accommodating as after the long bike ride didn’t really want to leave the pub later for food as we didn’t arrive till 5.30pm.

The pub had a very friendly feel and the staff were very polite and helpful. The food was of a high standard and a reasonable price. The breakfast was lovely and the staff very welcoming. All in all a great find in pretty village. I can see why it is very popular. Thank you to all the staff and owner for wonderful stay.

Little Gem in Rural Setting

Stayed for one night B&B. Beautifully decorated en-suite rooms, very friendly and hospitable hosts and fantastic breakfast included. We stayed at the pub for an evening meal which was outstanding. No hesitation in booking again.

Charming pub with lovely rooms and fantastic food

Everything was perfect ,  our idea of heaven,  from the setting  , to the room, to the bar, food and wine were excellent. The garden was welcoming and lovely to sit in on a beautiful evening .  Ralph was a brilliant host, nothing was too much trouble, even when I lost my watch and he sent it home to me when found. 
We will certainly return but for a longer holiday next time.  Thank you Ralph for making our visit so memorable.   Judith and David

A Weekend Away

I just stopped in for a pint ; and hadn’t been here since School days ! Was made to fel Beth welcome and some good banter with a local . £3.60 for a Doombar which was a guest ale ; and a half of Bass . Only 3 ales on tap . The menu looked good and I shall come back and eat here . An exciting outdoor area looks to further enhance the experience this summer .
