We had a really fabulous stay at Brook Farm B&B - just nothing to fault!  Extremely helpful and friendly owner, beautiful bedroom and lovely ensuite, and a wonderful breakfast to send us on our way.  Hoping very much to return next year when we take the ferry from Plymouth to Santander, in fact one of the reasons we will travel from Plymouth and not Portsmouth!! 

A fabulous last stopover after the ferry!

My friends and I visited Brook Farm this weekend.  We generally stay in hotels, so this tranquil and comfortable home was a welcome change.  We were greeted by Maria, who welcomed us with tea and almond cake in the garden.  The rooms were lovely, and I was really taken with the whole house including the most comfortable looking lounge.  This is an amazing place.  You feel settled as soon as you walk into the beautiful hall.  I do not like 'old', but as I said to Maria, I could have lived here forever and didn't want to leave.  She has made the place perfect.  And don't even get me started on the exquisite garden with it's lovely flowers.  The breakfast was lovely too and everything appeared to be home made.  I loved her compotes and was given a jar to take home.  The bedrooms are lovely and the bed and duvets are so so comfortable.  I can't say enough good things about Brook Farm and if we are ever visiting the area again, then we will be back to stay.  Thank you so much for the most enjoyable stay.

Not quite, but as near perfection as you could hope

We have just had our second visit at Brook Farm and felt really at home, made even better with a warm welcome from Maria. Setting is wonderful, breakfast is great and the room very comfortable. Convenient for M5 and A303 if you need a break on a long journey. 

A real gem

Brook Farm is a perfect country get-away and we wish we could have stayed longer.  Your heart lifts as you go in through the gate and see the house, an architectural gem, set in a lovely garden and with a glorious outlook over the surrounding countryside.  Maria is a charming, welcoming and ungushy host for whom nothing is too much trouble.  She's furnished the house beautifully, with glorious fabrics, but without making you feel you need to be ultra careful not to touch.  Our bedroom was spacious but cosy, the bed so very comfortable with crisp, high quality bedlinen; and as for the en-suite bathroom - we could have held a party in there!  Huge walk-in shower, fluffy towels and a really efficient heated towel rail.  Breakfast was delicious: home-made compotes and preserves, yoghurt, cereals, excellent full English with the best sausages we've had in ages.  And really good coffee. 
I think this is possibly the nicest B&B we've ever stayed in.

Thank you Maria! We were made to feel so welcome at Brook Farm. When we arrived Maria gave us the option of having a cup of tea in the lounge (with a crackling wood fire). Our tea came with delish lemon cake (I should of got the recipe!) and it was lovely to sit and enjoy. 

She gave us a recommendation of a local pub for dinner which was good and then we headed to our room. The rooms are spacious - each room has a super king bed with luxury bedding- it was John Lewis and white company - and they were very comfy. There was a large double walk-in shower with a heated tile floor. Lovely!

The full English Breakfast was delicious as well, everything we could have wanted. There was also a continental option for those with lighter appetites.
