We stayed at The Grange due to the convenience of the location to the party we were attending.  The room was spotlessly clean and well equipped the bathroom was a nice size and the toiletries were of a good quality.  There was a good choice of breakfast options and both myself and my husband were impressed by the standard of the food.  The owner was friendly and very accommodating.  We would certainly visit again.

Great hotel

We enjoyed our stay here ,we were in room 10 which was lovely and quiet and cosy.
The owners were very friendly and all the meals we had here were super.
The evening menu was small but the ingredients were good and well cooked,breakfasts were also beautifully cooked.
Sadly it rained for most of our stay but everything dried off quickly in our warm room.The bath was a good size for a warming hot bath after getting in soggy from our walk around Newark.

Professional but very friendly

We just spent one night in this hotel, and were quite impressed.  It was a cold November stopover but the hotel was ideal for us, dated, but charming . Excellent food , dining for dinner and breakfast with a excellent service.  We had a spacious room twin which was cosy and warm.easy walk into centre 15 minutes walk at the most..  enjoyed  our stay and would reccomend.

Overnight stay

We booked late and the only room available was on the second floor. This was not very suitable for a couple of mature years. The stairs up to it were narrow and the beams were so low that care had to be taken to avoid concussion. But it was clean, and the bathroom, beams aside, was excellent. On the plus side, the breakfast was the best we have had in any hotel for many years. It was outstanding. Service was excellent and the owners run a very good hotel. We hope to stay again, but will avoid the second floor rooms.

Superb breakfast. Interesting accommodation.

Stayed for one night whilst visiting Stubton Hall.  The service was excellent, our Host could not do enough for us.  She was very welcoming and friendly.  Sorted our taxi's out for the night and made sure we were comfortable.
  Lovely old property with lots of essentials in the room.  The Hotel was very clean and welcoming.
Great find near the Town centre and very reasonably priced.

Lovely Hotel, good location.

We spent two nights at The Grange whilst attending Vegan Camp Out. The staff were extremely friendly,helpful and attentive. They provided a full vegan breakfast without having to question our dietary needs. What a pleasure to visit somewhere that just 'gets it'. The hotel's standard of cleanliness is impeccable. We will definitely stay again and highly recommend the hotel - it's helpful to let them know in advance if you have any dietary requirements/intolerances

Great VEGAN breakfast!

We stayed for one night in room 6 which was beautifully appointed and immaculately clean.  The hotel is delightful, the service and assistance was friendly and caring and the breakfast was truly superb.  We can't recommend this hotel highly enough and will definitely return.

A delightful hotel with first rate attention to detail - highly recommended

This was a last-second booking. It’s a small place, as much B&B as hotel, on a fairly busy street; but it was pretty quiet inside the room (despite facing the street), and the manager (owner?) was helpful and friendly, including over breakfast the next day in the pleasant dining area. There’s also a quiet bar and lounge downstairs, but the latter was occupied by a help-group meeting; and the bar was, I think, closed, along with the restaurant. We went to a fine pub a few blocks down the same street. Room was a bit small but nicely equipped with en-suite.

Surprisingly nice

We booked our 41st anniversary meal here; we were not disappointed. The meal was excellent. We sat outside because it was a lovely evening.  The lovely Croatian/Hungarian waitresses, (sorry we did not get her name) cleaned our table and dressed it with silver cutlery. That being said we were served an Amuse Bouche, tomato soup served in Espresso cups with toasted bread, which we did not order,  was absolutely beautiful, our starters were excellent as was the main course, for me perfectly cooked, and soft chicken, my husband salmon. Compliments and big thumbs up to the chef. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a meal.
