Lovely hotel. Big car park and close to supermarket.
Room was lovely and everything we needed. We upgraded to a premier plus room and we'll worth it. Loved being able to keep drinks cold during our stay.
Breakie was good and the chef was lovely (didn't get his name)
Will come again. Oohhh wait, we love it so much we have been a few times and can't wait to come again

Great stay

My husband and I stayed at the premier inn merrie gardens for five nights on a short break The hotel was very easy to find at a small place called LAKE and is just 5mins drive to Sandown The premier inn was very clean, and ALL the team members were very helpful  breakfast was all nice and hot and there is a limited evening menu However near the hotel is a pub offering an excellent menu choice also a  KFC  Morrisons and Lidl nearby There is plenty of FREE onsite parking Would we be returning of course thank you to all the staff at Merrie Gardens L and H from Manchester

Enjoyable stay on The I.O.W.

An excellent experience all around.

Every member of staff has been friendly, enthusiastic, and fantastic.

Special shout-outs to the breakfast chef (I was told his name is Simon?) - the best breakfast we've every had in a premier inn. Or anywhere for that matter!! Superb.

And for Liam, who was absolutely wonderful spotting our sons ear defender / headphones and offering us the choice of table (one in the middle or one on the corner for quietness). You can't buy that type of awareness and empathy in a staff member to those with sensory issues. 

The two ladies that were running the breakfast and main reception area (one with blonde hair in a ponytail and the other light brown). Both so welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately we didn't get their names! 

But every member of staff has been excellent. From the "good morning" in the corridor as you walk passed to us checking out.

The room was both clean and quiet, and we all had flawless sleep every single night.

Superb from start to finish

I have always found Premier Inns consistently good  but unfortunately this one fell short in the areas of customer service and cleanliness. Everyone in my party commented on the day staff were rather unfriendly, whereas the evening staff were much more pleasant. I discovered that the plug and the place it slotted in to in the bath, were dirty with black mould or grime. I discretely reported it to one of the day staff and asked that it could be cleaned during the day- it wasn't. It was rather off putting, placing a dirty slimy plug into the plug hole and looking at the dirty slimy hole where the plug slotted in to. The room was just about clean enough, though I did notice a stain on the duvet cover. The room was quiet and the TV and Wi-Fi worked well, the hotel was in a good location but I was disappointed in the few things I have mentioned and it was definitely not a  Premier Inn up to its usual standards.

Fantastic service very clean I was impressed in how the staff kept the breakfast area good quality food think u need to put orange juice back on and bubble squeak back on the menu the breakfast was good value u for money check in was fast I was impressed they let my family pay and have breakfast with me who I was visiting on the island

Stayed here with the wife and it was close to the things we wanted to do. The room was very nice the bed was very comfortable. 
The staff was lovely very friendly and good in assisting with any questions I had. We didn’t book breakfast as we wasn’t going to eat but we did book it the next morning. I must admit the breakfast was very nice probably the best we have had at any hotel chain as we normally source breakfast at a cafe nearby as they seem to be far better but I will say I would eat breakfast here again. The only other thing I would add is they should put more tea and coffee making stuff in the rooms as they only ever seem to give you enough for one and you have to keep going to reception to get more. But overall 5/5

Very good 

We were delighted to return to Merrie Gardens and especially receive a wonderful welcoming from Dan Peach who was very helpful and efficient.
Everything was in order and organised and comfortable and we enjoyed great breakfasts every morning.

Stayed for 4 nights in a Premier Plus room, overall I don’t think they are worth the extra money for this hotel, the only benefit was having the fridge.
Room was clean & overlooked the KFC but we had no noise from this.
We had one armchair in the room with a foot stool, it would have been nice to have 2 armchairs or a sofa as one person always had to sit on the bed.
The fridge was great as we could buy milk instead of the little single milk cartons.
Would have been nice to have the bin in the room emptied, as you have to request a room clean if you want the room cleaned. 
Breakfast was good, but you do have to book a time slot of when you would want to eat, which we’ve never had to do before & when you are in holiday you don’t want to commit yourself to a time.

The Premier Inn breakfast was fantastic! 
They no longer have super comfy beds and you have to request cleaning/servicing of the room. 
The hotel is on a bus route which is great for exploring the island. It's also quiet during the evening 

Could do better

The hotel staff were friendly, polite and professional.  The hotel, although clean, was not spotless.  The stairs needed to be vacuumed.  The bin in the room was rusty and the curtain was not properly fitted.  The room was generally clean but not spotless.  The extractor fan didn't work and although a member of staff attempted to repair it, it didn't work.  The windows do not open which is not healthy.  The shower was not very good.

Breakfast was good and plenty of options whether you wanted continental or cooked breakfast.  Plenty of free parking but not enough disabled parking.

All in all, it is fairly good but when compared with other Premier Inns, it is not up to standard.
