This was a very relaxing stay in a genuinely picturesque setting. Despite being a pub, it was quiet and I was never disturbed by noise.Only downside was I had difficulty getting WiFi in my room but was able to get it in the main section of the pub.Thank you for the caring hospitality.

Made us feel well welcome but from there being no hot water to have a shower with upon arrival after a 6 hour journey, to not even being able to use the bath/ shower due to the fitting fixtures being broken or missing.Breakfast was Great i will give them that.Was rather distressful overall was not the greatest experience and the place could do with a clean up externally as is very run down.The guy on site was clearly not supported by management due to lack of staff which is not his thought.I Blame the management for not supporting him and not maintaining their property and surrounding ground.DO NOT EXPECT ONE GUY TO RUN YOUR BUSINESS WITHOUT SUPPORT!!

Slightly Disappointed...

Very enjoyable stay, staff were friendly and helpful. The evening meal was excellent and the breakfast great. The location was excellent to explore Dartmoor.Would recommend and visit again.

Staff friendly and helpful. Room looked good on arrival but unfortunately not as comfortable as it looked and lacked any luxury touches. Mattress on the bed very saggy on both sides and raised in the middle, towels thin and worn, very basic tea and coffee in rooms. Bathroom fittings incomplete or missing. Breakfast “buffet” consisted of few cereas, potted yoghurts and fruit juice. Cooked food in evening and cooked breakfast satisfactory.

Average accommodation without any luxuries.

Our stay was good, the room was perfectly fine, clean and tidy. Had several areas of cosmetic damage that could be sorted out but otherwise all good. The breakfast was nice but the actual pub is tiny. Hardly anywhere to sit, more like the size of a living room. The restaurant is much bigger. The people were very friendly though. Dog friendly too.

Good value stay

The room is lovely, the staff are lovely but lately the bar has a lack of a few things which is not idea given the rooms have been fully booked. Breakfast is good but granary is not always granary and is basic thin brown bread!

Room was freezing cold. Tv didn’t work And to top it all there was no hot water for a shower seems the boiler had tripped out of the boiler is faulty get it fixed or don’t take bookings. Breakfast was good but sitting there eating it in the cold was very uncomfortable.

Very misleading as we booked a nice room in the pub and we got a cabin in the car park. Tiny room, same price as in the pub. With a broken bed and side lamp bulb gone. They clearly pay no attention to the maintenance of the rooms. Complained and we were moved into the pub. Lovely room in the pub (apart from the cable ties holding the shower together), but the music in the bar was ridiculously loud until 9pm. I complained, as did a neighbour across the road, it was that loud. Such a shame as this pub is nice and breakfast was great. But it seems like the current owners are not getting the most out of it. The one shining light was the girl working while we were there. She was very professional throughout. We won’t be returning and we wouldn’t recommend.
