Seven Stars Bed and Breakfast

Had three lovely nights at the Seven Stars earlier this week, Di and the staff were so friendly and welcoming the rooms were lovely and clean and very comfortable, the choice at breakfast was brilliant and all food was cooked perfectly, we had the pleasure of  meeting Di's dog Captain we loved him.
Parking was available which made things so much easier and being located  in the centre of Haye on Wye even better.
We will be going back.

Another lovely trip to The Seven Stars in Hay! It is a very welcoming place for a B&B stay in the heart of Hay.  Di takes a personal interest in her guests and is so friendly and welcoming! (As is Captain - a very handsome and important member of staff....!).  The rooms are absolutely spotless and very comfortable with snowy white bedding, generous pillows and comfortable duvets.  There are ample tea and coffee making facilities as well as a clean and well appointed bath/shower room.  I have stayed in more than one room over the years and never tire of the comfort and convenience.  Breakfast is cooked to order with a buffet to accompany it - all worthy of the old coaching inn experience! My friend and I really enjoy staying at the Seven Stars and look forward to our annual trip!

I stayed here for 2 nights during my Offa’s Dyke walk - I had a day of R & R on Hay.  And what a great place to stop. A great room, comfy bed and a nice view of the main street. Breakfast was fantastic and the full breakfast was too much to walk on so I had a lighter option on my departure day. The swimming pool was perfect - a great place to relax and rest a weary body. Di was cheerful and helpful whenever I had a question, which was quite often! All in all a wonderful stay.

Just returned from another wonderful stay at this at the Seven Stars, if I could give a review of 7 stars I would.

I have stayed several times before on business and pleasure. In these days of sterile hotels and poor customer service, this place is an absolute gem that should be treasured. 

The rooms are comfortable as are the beds, the breakfast is wonderful, even a vegetarian option. Service at breakfast is quick and efficient even when the hotel has many guests in residence. The pool makes the place, it feels very exclusive when you have it to yourself and my favourite part of a stay.

The owner not only remembers returning guests, but takes the time to make guests feel at home with a chat and a smile. That rare old fashioned commodity, customer service.

In these financially troubled times, places like this do disappear, a time and a place can never be replaced once it's gone. We have experienced this before, returning years later to a favourite hotel to find the previous owners gone and the hotel redeveloped. A very special place, run by people who cared about quality and service gone forever. I hope this never happens to the Seven Stars.

If you are still reading this review and debating staying, just book you won't regret it. For those who are looking for a premier Inn then, book one leave this place to guests who appreciate what a special place this hotel and the owner are.

Nice quiet place to stay, Friendly staff with good conversations and good breakfast,
would like to have used the sauna but was closed due to virus restrictions,
would definitely stay again, 
easy parking and good central point to access the village.

Hawaii Five-0

Good room in the annex at the back over the top of the swimming pool.  The interior on the main property is a bit dark and pub like but efficient staff and service.  Excellent breakfast - prepared and presented well.  Good ensuite with shower.

Warmth envelops you as soon as you walk in and are greeted by Seven Stars’ very friendly and bubbly owner. 

Our room was simple but very clean. We loved lying in bed and looking out of the long sash window on the hustle and bustle of the outside world. 

Breakfast was superb. The homemade dried fruit salad was delicious. Coffee, including a very good de caffeinated blend, was served in individual cafetières. An excellent full cooked breakfast was available although we tended to have poached eggs served with a little stack of white and wholemeal toasted soldiers. 

Ideally situated in the heart of Hay with on-site parking, we would not hesitate to return.


Had a wonderful 3 night stay, friendly staff, great clean comfy family room that has just been refurbished to an excellent standard. This is our second visit and we will be sure to continue to stay at the seven stars when visiting Hay. The pool is such a bonus and a great way to end the day with children. Amazing location, couldn't recommend it enough. 

Seven Starts Guest House is a rambling old house full of character. The host is lovely and makes delicious breakfast. There is a friendly dog and complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. Should I go back to Hay, I'll stay there again!

We found that they were, friendly and accommodating we had help with our luggage
the room we were shown was very clean and tidy, bathroom was very clean with a shower all top rate. Breakfast Top class good range of food served with speed and friendliness. All in all very good. The swimming pool and sauna were tip top, would stay again, No probs.
