Stayed here via Booking.com and got a double room for two nights for 171. This was a bargain! Lovely clean room, great size bed, bathroom was huge with a lovely bath also. The owner was very helpful she supplied us with a parking permit for free parking which is a massive plus in Harrogate! I only wish they supplied breakfast. Thanks for a lovely stay and we will come back again!

Great find

Please be aware that after being requested to leave feedback on another booking site I have been bombarded with text messages from the owner. I only mentioned the size of the room, the uncomfortable mattress and the fact that they say in their room information that due to covid they wont enter the room during your stay - but they refilled the water bottle so they obviously didn't follow their own rules. Very dissappointing. Could be a good place and was very clean. Definitely requires a little more attention to the most important elements: Bed and Customer Service.

The hotel was not impersonal like chains. There were quirky, homely little touches. I felt safe as a solo female traveller. The hotelier was a lovely lady. It was clean, warm and I felt right at home. It’s near enough to town to walk but secluded enough to be quiet. Just right for the Conference Centre.  Lovely comfy bed.

Lovely homely feel

Fantastic location, on a beautiful tree-lined street of tall stone town houses. Walking distance to the town centre. Quiet at night as away from main road. 

Lovely hosts, very warm welcome and free car parking available with a permit with was handed to us as we walked through the door. We were able to park right outside the house. Tea and coffee available in the room. Bed was very comfy. 

It was a wonderful two-night stay and we would definitely recommend Sherwood to others who are exploring Harrogate.

Homely stay in Harrogate

Really happy with our 2 night stay here. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was quiet and peaceful and our lovely room (with an extremely comfy bed) overlooked the leafy street, which was nice.
Bathroom was well stocked with toiletries and shower was spacious. Lots of tea/coffee and other unexpected little things such as glass water bottles, individually packaged toothbrush/paste which was a really good idea. Very covid secure, lots of hand sanitiser in hallway and in our room, tv remote in clear plastic cover.

Location was great, short walk into town but far enough out so you don’t feel like you’re in staying in a busy city. Will definitely recommend and perhaps stay again if we find ourselves in Harrogate again.

Friendly, helpful owners, really pleasant stay

Looked okay from the outside but it ends there. A rather dour welcome and not a good first impression. Stair carpet probably recently new and the best feature of the place.

We were very surprised to be meet by an unmasked guy. The lack of masks and the clutter visible in private front room rather worried us about the covid strategy throughout the building and we decided not to have breakfast the following morning there and then. 

The room was dated and tired and for the price I would expect more these days. Simple things like liquid soap bottle empty, the rack in bathroom holding a few essentials rusting. As bedrooms go the size was adequate but in need of a deal of serious refreshing. 

The whole establishment reminded me of guest houses from the past but the world has moved on. The lady who settled our bill was friendly enough though.

Not a place I would go anywhere near again, the owners could make it so nice with a bit of effort.

Budget should not mean poor

We found the owners friendly and the B&B well located. Free parking permit so can park on the road of the hotel. Hotel is clean and comfortable and quiet. Room has 4 star amenities (maybe not 4 star presentation as a little tired). Good breakfast. Decent price for a well located B&B. Would recommend.

Big rooms, well catered for, warm and cosy, very clean and well furnished, interior of rooms immaculate and  breakfast was top notch, well worth the price, short walk to bars and restaurants nearby too, couldn't find a fault with the sherwood hotel

Very clean, very welcoming

Had a lovely 3 nights stay.  Each evening was like going home.  Sue & Austin were great hosts and nothing was too much trouble.  Friendly and clean.  The breakfast was great.  Loved the poached eggs on toast with fresh coffee.  Location is perfect - Close to the centre, within walking distance, yet it was quiet at night.  Will definitely return.

Stopped at the sherwood hotel for 2 night great little b&b with friendly staff and a good large breakfast includes fresh fruit and good sized room would defo uses is b&b again and only around 10 mins from town centre and about the same from the train station
