We stayed for one night in September.  The business is due to change hands this month so this review may fall out of date.

Pros - A very warm welcome upon arrival.  There is on street parking outside.  The location is good for local eateries. Really comfortable bed.

Cons - There are a lot of stairs up to the house and then more to climb up to the bedroom. The breakfast was basic, we weren't asked what we would like to have in our cooked breakfast and ended up with ingredients we didn't want and others such as beans were missing.  We think because the owners are moving on, they have lost the will to make an effort.
The decor throughout is old and tired.

We would stay again.

One night stay

During my recent trip to Scotland, on the spur of the moment, I took the train to Galashiels.  Just prior to going, I made a two night reservation at Craigielea B&B and am glad I did.  Room was immaculate and the breakfast was amazing!  Hats off to Anne!  The view from my room was awesome!  I’ll definitely stay again.

A Great Place to Stay

I was recently stranded in Gala(shiels) due to car problems, so had to make a last minute reservation to stay over. Ann was very friendly and welcoming, and the Victorian house was very cosy and well presented. My room was very well thought out, comfortable and quiet. Pretty much everything I needed was in the room or could be borrowed, and breakfast was tasty and nicely presented. I went out for a wander, and saw old Gala through a visitor's eyes - really worth a stop. What started as a hassle turned into quite a treat. Very well priced too.

Turned into quite a treat

Our room was very clean and bright with a comfortable bed, small en suite and a great view. A friendly and imformative host made us very welcome. We were served a very nice breakfast, everything as requested. Parking is on street, there are plenty of spaces right outside.

Pleasant one night stay

Lovely 1 night stay, welcomed at the door by Ann, the friendliest of hosts. We were shown to our twin room which was booked last minute, just enough space for the both of us. Room was well dressed and functional however one minor observation was some dust around the fixtures and fittings. We were asked what we would like for breakfast upon arrival and this was served fresh at our requested time. Thank you for a relaxing stay.

Last minute booking

Nice sized room, very clean, big window opens wide to cool the room.  Wonderful view from the B&B.  Excellent Scottish breakfast.  The manager is very helpful - she allowed me to print our boarding passes.  The bed was very firm.  The only problem is that the B&B is hard to find - set your GPS to Galashiels Library - the B&B is 2 or 3 houses up on a one way street.  There are stairs but the manager will help with your luggage.

Very nice rooms, wonderful breakfast!

Stayed here for 1 night . Bed very comfortable lovely breakfast and a lovely host . My only complaint is mould on the shower head apart from this room and guest house very clean . I would stay here again .
