Pitreavie Guest House was competitively priced, ensured a great welcome (even at a fairly late hour), a brilliant breakfast and refreshments in the room.  There was an award-winning garden to add to the splendour.  It is located just off the Queensferry Road, a mere 15 minute walk from the railway station with good bus connections as well.  My single room was nothing grand but had everything required including tea and coffee in proper china cups (none of this paper nonsense you get in cheaper hotel chains), real milk and even some blackcurrant juice.  Breakfast was excellent and will keep you going for much of the day.  It was very convivial, guests talked readily over the breakfast table and the hosts were very accommodating.  Just a shame they are retiring.

Outstanding guest house - great breakfast and welcoming hosts

My partner and I stayed at this guest house for night while visiting family in  Dunfermline. We were greeted by Jim when we arrived who took us straight up to our room (no fussing about paying the bill straight away, as some places do). We were in room four (the deluxe double) and what a beautiful room it was, huge comfy bed, extra blankets and hot water bottles in the wardrobe if needed ~ I doubt they ever get used though as the bed had a lovely thick duvet and quilted bedspread to keep you toasty warm and the heating was set at a comfortable temperature. Large windows at either side of the room kept it bright and airy, all the space you needed with two cosy tub chairs and a dressing table with mirror ~ there was also a huge mirror on the wall, perfect for making sure you look fab before going out. The ensuite had EVERYTHING you needed, including little extras like spectacle lens cleaner, shower caps and cotton pads etc, the only thing we actually used from out toiletry bag was deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste ! Good size shower with a great flowing water. Usual tea and coffee making facilities plus a teapot and a couple of extra treats, there is also juice and water in the room. Not a speck of dust to be seen or any sign of wear and tear. The etire guest house was spotlessy clean. Breakfast (included in the price) was in a gorgeous room with plenty of cereal, juice, fruit and yoghurt to choose from and a lovely hot breakfast menu to choose from including vegetarian. We met Liz in the morning and it was easy to see why this charming couple run a guest house, they are friendly but not overpowering and NOTHING was too much trouble. 

There is also a handy car park on site and a cute garden. The guest house is ideally located for whatever you are in Dunfermline for.

If I had to find a complaint it would be that we had to leave ! We could quite happily have stayed there longer ! If need a place to stay in Dunfermline, or the surrounding area,  look no further... you'd be hard to find any better than this place.

EXCELLENT FAMILY RUN GUEST HOUSE!
What a friendly welcoming couple and very helpful with directions to places in Dunfermilne.
The room was spotless, the breakfast very good and the parking was also very good.
All in all, super !

VERY NICE BREAKFAST ROOM.

I spent one night here whilst visiting the nearby Knockhill circuit.  I was surprised at just how nice my room was, and how warm the welcome.  

My room had a very large double bed in a large room, with en en suite shower.  The room included a decanter filled with flavoured water alongside all of the other things you might expect.  There was an iron and ironing board in the room too which proved useful.  

I was asked about my breakfast choices when I checked in, and next morning had a delicious full Scottish breakfast.  The breakfast room was filled with various breads, cereals and the like to go alongside the cooked breakfast, all of which tasted great.

My stay was also very friendly, feeling almost like I was staying with friends rather than a guest house.

Would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic, friendly guest house

Just back from an overnight stay here and had a wonderful experience. We were there for a music festival and were coming back quite late which was absolutely no problem for them. The rooms were lovely and spacious with lots of lovely little touches that made you feel very welcome. Liz and Jim was so hospitable and the breakfast was amazing. Lovely place and I would come back anytime. Excellent service and great value for money.

Fabulous place

Welcomed on arrival, host was exceptionally warm. Breakfast are fabulous, really set you up for the day. Clean, homely but modern. Definitely be back when we visit Edinburgh, so easy to stay here out of the busy centre and hop the train over.

Lovely find

We have just enjoyed a 2 night stay at this B&B. The previous reviews really say it all, but we did particularly appreciate getting clean towels each day, the excellent breakfast, having plenty of off-road parking and the location (choice of restaurants within easy walking distance). We stayed in the twin room which was very comfortable. The en-suite is compact but has everything required. Liz and Jim are a lovely couple and the perfect hosts who deserve the many 5 star reviews they have received. Overall, excellent value for money.

Great Stay

Absolutely brilliant we were so well looked after it was a lovely surprise. We had never been here before but I won’t hesitate to promote this place to others the owners couldn’t have done any more to mak3 us feel welcome

Awesome

We stayed for one night and received a very warm welcome from our hosts. Our room was clean spaceous and comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional. A twenty minute walk into town. A very enjoyable stay.

Warm Welcome

Arrived for two night stay. Very warm welcome and made to feel at home instantly. Given single room which is just pure luxury. All the fabulous luxury toiletries for use if needed, selection teas, coffees and even choc treats!! Decanter with juice also. Kettle filled ready to boil. Iron and board, shoe polish, sewing kit, night eye mask and even ear plugs. Fluffy towels changed daily. Big TV and extremely comfy bed and pillows. Breakfast was superb which includes everything you could possibly want and much more.  Nothing is too much trouble for the wonderful hosts and my hire car had an issue which Jim went out of his way to help with. You won't get any better accommodation or service anywhere else. The house is truly beautiful and special and so much time and love obviously spent achieving this. I will definitely recommend this amazing guest house to others. Will be sorry to leave. Thank you
