We stayed a couple of nights, were warm, comfortable and made very welcome. Room was clean and had everything that was needed. A little thing, but I particularly liked the fact that in our room, there was somewhere by the door to hang coats and put shoes. The wardrobe was on the small side, given that we’d got formal clothes as well as regular, but we were ok. We expect to return. 

Also to mention that there are nicely marked footpaths in the area, so worth bringing some muddyable shoes.

Very welcoming.

The loco is a pub and pizza restaurant in a pretty village. For us it was conveniently located for a family party. Host could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Rooms are small but excellent. Perfectly clean and well appointed. Excellent breakfast. Great value. We are happy guests.

You are not loco to stay at the loco.

Do you know what, went in for a beer and was met by the couple who own it both so chatty and nice, I said do you do food. Only pizza she said, the best pizza I've ever tasted. The best quality dough imported from Italy and the toppings to dough for lol.Thanks Ziggy and Karen. I highly recommend this place. I have posted pictures of the proper Italian pizza oven and set up in the kitchen. Happy eating Bez xx

Went in for a  beer

That was without doubt the best pizza I've ever had delivered, thank you!! Woodfired pizza, delicious cheese and really fresh ingredients. Can't praise loco enough. In these strange times, I'm glad people have ingenuity. I had to have a slice before o sent below picture 👍👍👍

Pizza delivery

Stayed here a Friday night with my wife. It was a great value £44 Wowcher deal which included a meal and bottle of wine at the almost next door Duke William and a room at The Loco. A polite efficient lady from the Duke William checked us in at the Loco as we arrived earlier. The room was clean and tidy.  Nice bathroom with shower. 
We both had fish, chips and peas for our meal which was ok. The two young server's were friendly and efficient. The Duke has Sky Sports and the Loco had a live singer so we were entertained and had a good night with the friendly locals.
Overall for the price we paid it was excellent value as we were not expecting 5 star.

Excellent value Wowcher deal

After reading some of the reviews we were a bit concerned about staying here but had already booked through Wowcher. 
I phoned a couple of days before and asked if we could book in earlier than 5 o’clock , about 2, and was told to go into the back of the Duke William next door as we had to park in their car park. We got there, parked the car and met a very friendly young lady who was expecting us. She showed us to our room above the Loco which was great. Our room was warm, very modern and a great bathroom ( although take your own shower stuff as there was only a bar of soap ). The Loco is 1 minutes walk from the Duke which serves the meals incl breakfast. The evening meals were very good as was the breakfast at a reasonable £6.00. We had a couple of drinks in the Loco but mainly in the Duke which were reasonably priced. The staff in both places were very friendly. Would not hesitate to go back if I was flying from Robin Hood airport which is 10 minutes away.

Excellent place to stay

Booked a trip away with my Mum for a little break and shopping trip,
We knew we had to book in at the Duke of William as the Loco wasn’t open until 5pm,
The lady that booked us in was very friendly and welcoming and showed us to our room,
The stairs and landing to the rooms were clean and tidy and looked new, our room was small but just the job for one night and it was was clean and tidy with a tele, coffee/tea tray and towels,
We noticed a sign on the loco window to say it was opening at 6pm and apologised for inconvenience,
We went for a drink back at the Duke and found that the Loco was now closed! It would have been nice to have been made aware of this but it didn’t dampen our stay!

Wowcher Deal

Awful place and owned by the pub 3 doors down which isn’t much better, if attracted by Woucher or Groupon don’t bother.
Your food is served at the Duke William which is not great either.
Nothing much else in the village either so literally stuck at this place. Rooms need a lot of work to bring them up to an average standard

This place is shut down and only using rooms not good

This is the filthiest place I have ever stayed, absolutely filthy, stained toilet seat, cracked floor tiles,mouldy shower and shower head, bedding that belonged in a dogs bed at best, paper clips holding the blinds up, sink that flooded the list goes on.
disgraceful management.

it was described as romantic getaway through Wowcher ha ha, nightmare from hell more like
booked two nights stayed for  and only stayed because we drove for 3 hours. book into the red lion at Epworth works out 30 extra for two nights and well worth it.
