Me and my friend were due to stay here this weekend so we could climb some hills in the nearby area. Unfortunately my friend tested positive for Covid. I phoned the hotel and they were brilliant with dealing with our cancellation. We will definitely stay here as soon as we possibly can. Thank you for everything!

Great customer service

Glenbruar house is directly across the road from the main crainlarich hotel. It’s an excellent location for hill walkers and sightseers.

We were surprised at how modern our bedroom was - spotlessly clean, nice modern decor, comfortable beds, excellent shower.

Having driven past the main crainlarich hotel many times - which looks okay from the outside - were were amazed at how nice it was inside.  Lovely bar and lounge area, and the main dining room is fantastic, modern with a highland grandeur.
Great menu options and again were shocked at the quality of all our food.  Everybody though each course was delicious.   As nice as a top restaurant.  Good price too.  We also had breakfast included - and it was also fantastic.  We were all really impressed.

The staff were all excellent.  Warm,friendly and efficient.  

We could not fault our whole experience staying at the glenbruer house/ crainlarich hotel.  We highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back.

Excellent stay - we were very pleasantly surprised

We didn’t have a great experience here. The welcome at reception was cold and we were told the wrong room and we asked twice the name to confirm. We tried the room we were told and we couldn’t get in. On a whim we tried the room next to it and the key worked.
The room was small and cold. We were not informed that there would be no room service or change of towels even though we had booked for 7 nights at £105 per night and the room really wasn’t worth it. The bed was uncomfortable with the springs sticking into your back. The bathroom was cold and damp.
After 4 nights we couldn’t take anymore and checked out and made alternative arrangements.
We would not recommend this place there are much better accommodation to stay in.
The local staff are not particularly friendly however the overseas staff were very friendly the local staff should learn from them!

Disappointed

I spent 3 nights here during a walking trip. It is essentially an overflow for the Best Western Hotel across the street.

The room itself was very comfortable.Light airy and spacious, except for the bathroom which was rather small. As a train nerd the view of the west highland railway line was much appreciated!

Meals were served at the hotel itself. Evening meals were excellent with good range of drinks and a mix of scottish and non scottish meals. The sea bass was particularly good. Breakfasts were also served there, service was quick, breakfasts big enough for those heading into the great outdoors plus a buffet to help yourself from.

The biggest plus point was the staff. Nothing was a problem, they were happy to help from chosing meals to recommended routes to local locations, taking route plans for walkers etc. If one didn't the answer they knew someone who did. All in all made very welcome and I'd happily go back.

Brilliant staff, tiny bath room

A very quaint building by the picture, but next to a highway and near a railway bridge.  Slept well, however..
They bill themselves as a Bed and Breakfast, but aren't.  Beware!!! They are actually run by a very snotty hotel across the road.  They give you the key, but make you feel that you are second class.  Unfortunately, my buddy who reserved, neglected to see that you actually had to reserve for breakfast in this B & B...  I asked if we were sure to have beds as well.  They didn't appreciate my humor.  The only good thing about the town is the locals are very fine people.  We had a lovely evening in the local pub where they seemed to be aware of the drawbacks of this place.

Ridiculous

This is not a bed and breakfast. It's an empty house opposite the Best Western Hotel. A ridiculous price of £85 per couple and then you're invited to cough up the cost of breakfast across the road.The only way to make it acceptable is to arrive with your own food, dishes and cutlery and have a picnic; but no, on second thoughts, don't.

Terrible.The antithesis of a Highland hospitality and light years from a "Bed and Breakfast"

I'm not quite sure it works, Best Western but AirBnB website with Best Western check-in. There are 5 or 6 rooms in an old house very nearby. The rooms are basic and presumably not up to Best Western normal standard hence arrangement. However the price is commensurate so over-priced in my opinion, with extra cost if you take breakfast in the hotel.

The hotel rooms were newly renovated, but it  didn't seem like it were done very properly. You have to go to the hotel across the street to collect the key and for the breakfast. We stayed at this house because of the area, so all in all it was sufficient.

Sufficient

I have been staying in Glenbruar House on a Friday night, while doing the West Highland Way. Since they haven't had a free single room on that night, they have booked me into a double en-suite one instead for the same price. The room was great, and although facing the main road, I haven't heard a thing and slept well that night. Greg, the owner, was super friendly and helpful. He has washed and dried my clothes, and let me use his computer. On the Saturday morning, I have found out, that I have nowhere to stay the following night. My next stop on WHW, Bridge Of Orchy or Inveroran Hotel, were fully booked. Greg has called his friend in Inveroran to check, whether he could put me up for a night. All clicked, and I was sorted for the next night. All in all, Glenbruar house is a friendly and welcoming place to stay with an excellent owner.
