The beds were clean the carpet looked mucky ,the windowsill was loose there was wallpaper coming off behind curtain near the single bed and under window sill charged £88 for one night it had 2 single beds pushed together and a single bed near window smelt downstairs as you go in would not stay here again glad it was for only one night overly priced

Very smelly dirty run down place

On arrival the outside is run down and dirty. Have to ring a mobile number to get in as nobody there. The inside is filthy and smelly. In the bedroom it was awful, bathroom was black with mould. Couldn't stay there left straight away. This cannot be described as a Guest House more a slum

Disgusted

Booked a family room with sea but got a small double overlooking back yard. After speaking to someone who was disrespectful and  rude they admitted it was there fault and would give me a part refund which is only what I was entitled to has I didn't get what I payed for,however its about 9 weeks later and nothing still waiting but the way they spoke to me I didn't expect it.just want people to know this is how they treat guests 😠

Didn't get what was paid for

This experience was one of worst experiences I have encountered. We had a booking through Booking.com for 4 adults in a room in M and J guest house, Cleethorpes. When we arrived, the place looked very very run down and smelt of smoke, however we thought we would try it anyway as we only needed the room to get changed and sleep in and wouldn't be in the room for long. We got to the place, and the door was locked for a start, which is a very good way of greeting your customers, NOT. We then had to call a mobile number to check in, you can't even check in face to face, probably because they have no intentions of letting you in. The rude man on the phone then said we are not being let in as its a family room and not for 4 adults even though that's what we booked and it shows that on our order confirmation. They said they messaged me and they had not, I have all emails and messages, no mention of it, imagine my shock! We then asked if they were going to refund us for the room, and they said no as we booked this room apparently, even though we booked for 4 adults. So we are now taking this up with booking.com and trying to get a refund for this, and reviewing them, but judging by their nasty review replies I am not sure it is worth it! 

The man was so rude, never had customer service like it. We had an event on the sunday which we had to drive back 3 hours to where we live due to no availability anywhere else, and back the next day. Shambolic and as mentioned, I am so unsure how they are still running as a business, this place needs closing down, failing this, a new receptionist!!!

Awful experience, surprised they are allowed to operate as a business. Rather sleep in a car.

Upon arrival to this lovely establishment, we was greeted by a man with 0 manors!!! Didn't ask our names, just threw a key at us. We eventually found our room on the top floor of this scone of a building. We thought we had booked a hotel for the weekend, but when we fought our way past the local tramp, we found a zoo in our room! (we didn't pay for the zoo upgrade!!) We peeled back the crusty bed sheets to find a, what we thought was a zebra, was actually a monster of a rat! We instantly ran out and never went back. Really made our Christmas trip away! Would definitely recommend!!!

2 for the price of 1!!!!!!!!

We booked this hotel through booking.com as it said it was over 8 + and highly recommended. This is certainly not the case. After we had finished work at 6 o’clock went for a couple of pints grab some dinner took it back to the venue we had it in the banqueting hall which was fairly nice. We went to bed nice and comfy no problems. Until I woke all at 2:30 in the morning and thought I had a spider on me so I turn my torch on my phone to have a lock to flick it off to my astonishment that my pillow had 8 to 10 bedbugs crawling around my head I freaked out jumped up and immediately went to the managers room to show her! 
She then said that we must have bought in the bugs from work..... ! 
This isn’t something I take lightly when I book hotels for work purposes I mainly go for higher standard Hotel because you just can’t go wrong but in this instance it was fully booked so we just went for a bog standard hotel on the seafront that cost the same amount as the higher standard one. But this wasn’t the case.
This place needs closing down!!! 
We had to stay on a bench out side.

Avoid like the plague!!!

Like other reviews I have seen on here, we arrived after having our booking confirmed to be told "we are fully booked here, but we have booked you in another BnB down the road that we have. " They are clearly booking through this hotel and then sending people down the road to a BnB that can't get guests in because it is that terrible, (the Priory read their reviews too) 
Our room was so cold we may as well have slept on the street. The windows don't shut, the heater didn't work. 
We were woken at 6am by the sink gurgling and a lingering stench of drains. Our friends had bugs all over their room. 
This BnB needs extreme work doing to it, it is filthy, the beds look like they have been there since the first World War, bedding stained, no curtains and coffee in the pot stuck to the jar its been there that long. You can see every floor panel throughout, the carpet is thread bare.
Guest book at the front door with comments from 2000-2014 clearly a few missing pages in this and very out of date 
Honestly, stay away not worth the money, they should be paying you to stay here.

Don't bother

Very reasonable price for a family room , large double and two large single beds .

a couple of armchairs 
ample tea and coffee
only stayed one night but suited our needs for a family of four.

I booked this guest house on lastminute.com as it seemed to be the best deal around. The reviews looked OK and it was only for one night. I phoned up in advance to confirm it was OK to arrive around 8pm. The lady said that would be fine.

I hadn't read the reviews on here before booking. I won't make that mistake again!

I was greeted by a lady who claimed to be the cleaner and said that she wasn't expecting me. She treated me like i was inconveniencing her! She had to phone the boss to confirm that i had paid, to confirm that i had booked a room and to confirm that i was entitled to an en-suite as she didn't know about it.

I was shown to my family room (i would NEVER bring my family here!) which had no heating apart from a little stand alone radiator, which was absolutely useless. I went out to get some food in Cleethorpes and didn't feel that my belongings were safe. I didn't feel happy or secure in the room.

The door didn't lock properly, but i wedged the door stop under the door which made me feel a bit safer. Thankfully i slept well, but as soon as i woke up, i got dressed and left.

This will be the last time i stay at any B&B and would rather pay extra for a hotel. This was awful and i feel really sorry for anyone who visited with children.

If i hadn't paid online, i would have walked straight out and stayed somewhere else.

Never again....

Just want to say how wonderful our stay was here on monday 27th august. For one night everything was good from moment we arrived until we left. room was great for what we needed nice size for 2 of us and the 2 children was nice and clean would stay there again was met by a lovely lady called jean on arrival
