Great rooms. Great vegetarian and vegan breakfasts. Lovely owners. On a direct bus route into Chester city centre but also easily walkable - about 20 minutes walk. We were very well looked after. Highly recommended

Best hotel we've ever stayed in

I cannot praise highly enough.

From the moment of arrival to leaving, we were treated wonderfully.

Coffee and biscuits on arrival was such a lovely welcome.

Our room was immaculate. In fact the entire place was immaculatelu clean and well cared for. We had a little fridge, which was very welcome as it was a very warm weekend.

Robes and slippers were provided too.

The bed was very comfortable with perfectly laundered cotton sheets and pillows. Fresh milk was available and plenty of tea and coffee.

The bathroom looked as though nobody had ever used it, such was its cleanliness. 

This brings me to the breakfast!! Which was superb. Great choice with fresh produce. We enjoyed the full English with fruits, cereals and continental available to help ourselves to.

An absolutely wonderful stay

Staying here was a pleasure, its a beautiful property and not too far from the city centre. The room was lovely and comfortable with everything you could want, the en-suite was fabulous (with gorgeous Thierry Mugler toiletries) and the breakfasts scrumptious - the best fresh fruit salad ever!!! Highly recommended.

Fabulous Guest House

My husband and I had a lovely stay at this property. Fresh tea,coffee and biscuits on arrival.Beautiful room,immaculate with lots of personal touches and complimentary refreshments. Twenty minute stroll to Chester City shops and bars and a short bus ride or taxi service. Excellent breakfast served in a stunning dining room.

We could not fault this service in anyway,one of the best properties we have ever stayed in.

Both my wife and I, and her sister and brother-in-law stayed over the second bank holiday weekend in May. When we arrived Helen and Colin were as friendly and welcoming as usual. As we had a long journey, it was refreshing to have a cup of coffee upon arrival and a chat.

The rooms where we stayed were up to the usual high standards we expect at Mitchell’s. The bed in the Rosa room was extremely comfortable and as soon as we returned from being out for a meal, I was asleep as soon as my head touched the pillow.

Breakfast was amazing as usual. There is a wide selection of fruits and cereals. The English Grille is fantastic with locally sourced ingredients. Helen and Colin definitely deliver everything to such a high standard that we compare other places to it. Thank you from all of us for the brilliant stay

Brilliant as usual 

Hidden Gem great attentive hosts in beautiful surroundings . Nothing too much trouble lots of lovely little touches that add to the experience from fresh milk to fresh flowers in your room. Good size room with queen size bed elegantly decorated . Bathroom fully equipped with toiletries.Lovely and clean. Breakfast was fresh organic and flavoursome, lots of choice . Location was great for our visit as we do like to walk 20 mins to Chester .

My husband booked this BnB for my birthday as a surprise and it was an absolutely lovely stay. Helen was very hospitable and there was a lot of attention to detail. She showed us a map of Chester and how to get into the City centre and recommended places worth visiting. The room was lovely, warm and clean and the breakfast was second to none! There was just the right amount of availability when we needed something and being left to our own devices. It made the wet weekend a much more enjoyable experience! The little teddy at the end was an icing on the cake and takes pride of place on our mantle piece!
